Chapter 4
Tiffany froze in place, stunned by his words.
She turned to Peter, her eyes welling with tears.
Peter frowned. “Patrick, stop acting out.”
“Dad knows it’s hard for you to accept, but this is the truth. You’re an adult now, and you’re also a major shareholder in the Morgan family. You need to handle this rationally.”
Tiffany clung to Peter’s sleeve, looking at Patrick with hopeful eyes. “Son, are you mad at Mommy? Mommy had her reasons.”
She sniffled, tears rolling down her cheeks. “Your dad and I fell in love at first sight, but we were so poor back then. We couldn’t give you a good life.”
“After thinking it over, to give you a better future, I had no choice but to let you live with that thief who stole your father from
me.”
She pointed at me, and then, like flipping a switch, smiled at Patrick. “But now things are different.”
“My son has succeeded, and now he’s inherited the Morgan family business. Our family of three can finally be reunited!”
Patrick rolled his eyes. “So you want me to thank you for your great intentions?”
“My mother worked hard to raise me for eighteen years and even entrusted the Morgan family business to me.
Now, you want me to abandon her and use the wealth she gave me to support you and your future?”
He let out a cold laugh. “Even computers aren’t as good at calculating as you two.”
Tiffany was caught off guard, her words dying in her throat, and the smile froze on her face.
Peter Jordan snapped angrily, “How dare you speak like that? She’s your real mother!
The bond between you two is unbreakable. Have you thrown all the books you’ve read into the trash?”
“Apologize now!”
I had originally intended to tease this pair of scoundrels a little more, but when they insisted on severing ties between me and my son, I could no longer hold back.
I spoke nonchalantly, “Do you have any evidence to say that Patrick isn’t my
son?”
I scanned the room, taking note of the media present, and then gently pinched Patrick’s cheek.
Patrick, ever the cooperative son, bent down to be on my level, his towering figure of almost six and a half feet mirrorin~ my face.
“With faces this identical, tell me how we can possibly not be blood–related?”
The crowd immediately started murmuring.
“That’s incredible! They could be twins! If they’re not mother and son, then what are they?”

Chapter 4
“The secretary, Tiffany, she’s so plain, you can barely spot her in a crowd. How could she possibly have such a handsome son?
Tiffany panicked, unable to keep her story together, and quickly blurted out, “When we did the IVF, Peter Jordan personally swapped Summer Casey’s eggs for mine. Patrick Morgan is our son!”
“And they look alike because my son was born from her womb.”
The crowd erupted in shock.
“Original wife did IVF eighteen times, only for the scoundrel to switch out the eggs for the mistress. Even the ultimate player would admire him!”
“I thought cheating and swapping children was already shocking enough, but now eggs are being swapped? That’s next level!TM
Tiffany hadn’t expected her hasty confession to cause such an uproar. She felt a moment of regret.
Meanwhile, Peter Jordan remained calm. The Morgan family shares had already been fully transferred to Patrick, which meant Peter practically controlled the company now.
The Morgan family was one of the leading tech giants in the country, and no media outlet dared to offend them lightly.
No matter what was seen or heard today, the media’s reporting would ultimately be at his discretion.
Peter Jordan, confident and unshaken, cleared his throat. “Casey, the egg swap was a last resort. You did a great job giving birth to Patrick.”
“If you know what’s good for you, you’ll voluntarily step down from the Morgan family.
I’ll have Patrick send you five hundred dollars a month to ensure you’ll never go hungry in your next life.”
“Five hundred dollars?” I gave a playful smile. “Mr. Jordan, you sure are generous.”
I uncrossed my legs and stood up, leaning forward on the table, a smirk tugging at my lips. “How do you know I didn’t know about the egg swap?”
I pulled out a voice recorder and pressed play, and the conversation between Peter and Tiffany began to play over the speakers.
“My dear, are you sure you want to have a child with her? What happens to us if you do?”
“Don’t worry. I’ve swapped Summer’s eggs with yours. When the child is born, it’ll be ours.
You won’t have to endure the pain of childbirth, and once he grows up, all of the Morgan family’s wealth will be his.”
