Chapter 14
in Dominic’s office, cold white light illuminated his desk.
Spread before him were countless files documenting how she had systematically driven wedges between him and Emma. Among them lay a stack of private investigator reports–photographs, audio recordings, bank transfers, ever worn statements from those so–called “thugs.”
Ms. Reed hired us, said it was just an act, paid well…”
She told us to pretend we were going to hurt her, but we weren’t actually going to do anything…”
She said if Mr. Chase believed it, we’d get extra payment afterward…”
Dominic’s knuckles turned white, his eyes churning with dark emotions.
‘rom beginning to end, Stella had orchestrated everything.
While he had pushed the woman he loved deeply into an abyss.
When security “escorted” Stella into his office, her face still wore a flirtatious smile: “Dominic, why did you call for
ne so urgently…”
Her words died as a stack of documents struck her face.
Explain.” Dominic’s voice was ice–cold.
‘apers scattered across the floor. Stella glanced down at the photos and bank statements, her smile instantly reezing.
I… I can explain!” She frantically knelt to gather them, hands shaking. “Someone must be framing me! It must be
Emma–she hates me, so…”
Emma?” Dominic stared at the woman before him, his tone unexpectedly calm as he pulled a recorder from his drawer and pressed play.
That bitch deserved it! Who told her to be so stubborn…”
Stella’s voice echoed through the office, sharp and malicious.
Her face instantly drained of color.
Stella attempted a smile, throwing the documents aside as she slowly approached Dominic: “Dominic… believe me, I never did those things…”
Meeting his cold stare, her breathing became increasingly rapid: “Trust me… I love you so much…”

Chapter 14
“Love?” Dominic questioned, gripping Stella’s chin. “You do these things and still claim to love me? Doesn’t it sicken you?”
“Then you think you’re any better?” Stella suddenly looked up, the fragility in her eyes completely gone, replaced by twisted hatred. “Dominic Chase, you approached me first! You used me as a replacement, you made me believe you loved me!”
She violently broke free from his grip, pointing at his face with a cold laugh: “You were too blind to see who was sincere and who was fake. Who are you trying to impress with this righteous act now? Emma’s already left you! She’d rather abandon everything and flee than look at you again!”
Dominic’s pupils contracted sharply, his chest feeling as if struck by a hammer.
Stella’s laughter grew increasingly scornful: “Do you know what she left behind? That necklace you gave her? You’ve seen the surveillance inside it…”
“Each of those ninety–nine blows–weren’t they delivered by your own hands?”
The air stilled for several seconds.
Then Dominic suddenly laughed.
He rose deliberately, walking to Stella, raising his hand to caress her face–the gesture tender as a lover’s, yet his eyes terrifyingly cold.
‘You’re right. I was blind.” His voice was soft. “So now it’s time to correct my mistake.”
Before Stella could react, the office door opened again as two security guards approached, binding her tightly with coarse rope.
Stella’s eyes widened in shock, nearly knocked down by their force: “Dominic Chase! You can’t do this to me! I… I can return all that money to you!”
Dominic stepped back, expressionlessly watching as they handcuffed her: “Return it? You think I care about that
›ittance?”
He leaned down to her ear, his voice soft as a snake’s hiss:
I’m going to show you what ‘living death‘ truly means.”
