Hospital corridor.
Sonia intentionally sent Dorothy a photo of Dwayne with the children, and messaged her with a triumphant tone.
Dr. Acosta, Dwayne is with me and the children, he didn’t leave, so don’t wait in vain.
Dorothy did not reply for a long time.
Sonia was also too lazy to look, at least, she had a plan, and she also held back Dwayne.
When the sound of the ward door opening came, she turned her head and saw Dwayne coming out. She immediately put away her phone and greeted him with a smile, “Dwayne, Brenden hasn’t woken up yet, right?”
He responded lightly, “You accompany him first, I still have things to do.”
Sonia’s smile froze.
When Dwayne was about to leave, he reached out and grabbed him, “Dwayne!”
She knew where he was going, so she felt anxious.
In the past six months since returning to her home country, she has not been able to restore her previous relationship with Dwayne, nor has she achieved what she wanted. How could she be willing to sit back and let others take control?
Dwayne turned to look at her, furrowing his brow, “What’s wrong?”
“I’m afraid Brenden won’t see you when he wakes up… How about you wait until Brenden wakes up before leaving?”
She wanted to keep him.

The man fixed her with a gaze that seemed to carry a deeper level of scrutiny, unfathomable, “I have said before, I cannot prioritize everything with Brenden in mind, I have my own things to deal with.”
“It’s just for me!” Sonia grabbed his hand, tears in her eyes, pleading, “Dwayne, I just want you to stay, just be with me…”
Watching Sonia cry, Dwayne felt a mix of emotions in his heart.
He was guilty towards Sonia.
If it hadn’t been for her grandmother’s interference driving her away back then, she wouldn’t have been sold to another man by her parents, and still give birth to Brenden.
He regretted that the woman he had pampered for ten years had fallen into such a state after leaving him.
But…
Was this complex feeling guilt, or lingering love for her in the end?
