Dorothy turned her head, Dwayne sat with his legs crossed by the window reading a magazine, his suit jacket draped over the- back of the chair, looking as if he hadn’t slept all night, with a hint of fatigue in his eyes.
In the past, he would have guarded her like this.
She had no idea how touched she could be.
But now she feels it’s not interesting anymore.
Dorothy was just about to sit up when Dwayne frowned and, suppressing his emotions, casually threw the magazine on the sofa beside him. He reached out and pressed her back, standing by the head of the bed and looking down at her, “You’re upset and tired, now is the time to rest.”
During the three days after Bryson’s death, she really didn’t rest well. When she returned to Tranquility Apartments, she already felt very tired.
Her tone was not good, “Can’t I go to the bathroom?”
Dwayne’s brows relaxed, wanting to pick up the IV bottle, but
Dorothy waved his hand away, “I don’t need you.”
She took down the IV bottle and went to the bathroom by herself.
When she came out, she even pretended Dwayne didn’t exist, hung the IV bag back by herself, and lay down on the bed.
Dwayne kept his gaze on her face and asked, “What do you want for breakfast?”
“I didn’t eat.”

She turned over, with her back to him.

Dorothy closed her eyes and didn’t respond
Dwayne also opened the door and left.
She opened her eyes only when she heard the sound of the door closing, with no emotion in her eyes.
