Dorothy froze for a second before looking at Dwayne with disbelief. “I targeted her?“]
He was here to accuse her of targeting Sonia?]
“She’s your superior. No matter what, you shouldn’t have embarrassed her in front of so many people,” Dwayne said in a flat tone, as if he was her boss, not her husband.[]
Suppressing the great bitterness, Dorothy suddenly chuckled. “In case you forgot, I’m the chief surgeon. Don’t I have the right to ask people to leave the operating room?“]
“In case you forgot,” Dwayne smiled mockingly, “I have the right to replace the chief surgeon.“[]
His harsh words broke Dorothy’s heart.]
But it was fine.
She had already applied for a transfer.]
He could replace her with whomever he wanted.[]
Dwayne continued, “From now on, don’t…”
“Mr. Lambert, replace me if you want,” she interrupted him.[]
The smile on his face gradually vanished as he stared at her, his gaze deep.
She’d only call him “Mr. Lambert” when in public.[]

“Mr. Lambert,” Dorothy replied extremely calmly. “Isn’t that how you want me to call you?“]

Just as he was about to say something, a nurse ran toward them. “Dr. Acosta, the patient’s family is arguing with Dr. Frazier!“]
Before Dorothy could even move, Dwayne had already stridden inside, and all she could see was his retreating figure.
She couldn’t help but let out a derisive laugh when she saw how nervous he was.
He had never cared about her this much.]
