17.HIS VIOLENT AURA
The unfamiliar smell of her surroundings was the first thing that registered in Sibyl’s mind as she gradually regained consciousness. Her thoughts felt as light as feathers, it took her a moment to reconnect with her body. Blinking groggily, she focused on the sight of the bare celling above her. “Where am I?” she softly murmured, her voice barely audible as she struggled to piece together the events of the previous day. Amidst the blur of memories, one image stood out clearly: Keshton kissing her.
Sibyl’s eyes widened as she held her breath tightly. “What kind of crazy dream did I have?” she whispered to herself, her hands subconsciously tightening on the bed sheet.
“You’re awake,” a familiar voice reached her ears, causing her to immediately look towards the bedside table
where Glen sat.
Surprised, she asked, “Why are you here?”
Instead of answering her question directly, he remarked, “I never thought you would be so obedient and actually take a hit.”
Sibyl blinked in silence, slowly sitting up in bed. “Why do you look disappointed over the fact that I obeyed
you?” she inquired.
“Because I feel like s**t now, knowing a woman was injured because of me,” Glen muttered, running his hand through hair in frustration.
“I’m fine now,” Sibyl reassured him. The pain in her body had vanished and the silver was starting to fade from the wound. “Plus I’m responsible for my own actions and decisions. I don’t blame you,” she explained.
“Still, I’m sorry,” he murmured, getting up and turning away. “Here, this is yours,” Glen said, passing her a
mobile phone.
“Where did you get it?” Sibyl asked, taking it eagerly.
“The day we came to your apartment and you ran away using the window, I picked it up. I just haven’t had a chance to return it to you,” he explained.
“Thank you,” Sibyl smiled at him gratefully. She had thought she had lost her phone and would have to spend the money to buy a new one. She tried to switch it on, but the battery was dead.
He just nodded in response and informed her, “You can take the day off of work.” “The day off?” she blinked at him in surprise, but then a woman entered the room. “Please excuse us,” she gestured to Glen, showing off things in her hand.
When he left, the woman approached to check Sibyl’s injuries. “Can I go home?” Sibyl asked impatiently.
“Your wounds are healing very fast with the help of your wolf. You’re nearly healed, so yes, you can go,” the woman smiled at her.
Sibyl let out a relieved sigh. There was an unexplainable pressure in her mind from being in this place. “Here,” the woman passed her a beautiful paper bag.
“What is this?” Sibyl inspected the contents of the bag in confusion to find a new set of clothes inside. It was

a simple knee–length loose maxi dress. “Who brought this..”
The woman read her confusion and replied, “The Alpha that brought you here.”
Sibyl dropped the dress from her hand in shock. Did she just say an Alpha was with her? The dream crossed her mind as she stared at the woman.
“Do you mean Alpha Keshton? He was here?” her voice only squeaked slightly.
“Yes, he left late last night after passing me this bag and paying the bill,” she smiled and turned to leave.
Sibyl sat there with wide eyes. Her hand went to her lips where she felt Keshton’s hot lips crashing against hers. A flush crossed her cheek, she felt a warmth rising within her. It had not been a dream… Keshton had really been there, and he… kissed her!
She put her hand over her mouth in shock. Why had he kissed her? Was it a mistake? This time their lips were not that close for a mistake to happen like last time. What had he meant by not liking her being touched by another man? Nothing made sense here.
Standing under the shower, Sibyl gazed at her reflection in the mirror, her hand subconsciously went to her neck where the patch covering her mate mark was. She peeled it off and stared at it.
Sibyl’s mind echoed Keshton’s words. ‘I don’t like when other men touch you.
She bit her lip lightly and murmured to herself, ‘Why would he say that?‘
After getting dressed Sibyl went straight from the healer’s territory to the Eclipse Moon Pack. The hospital staff were concerned about her and talked about her well–being, which warmed her heart. After chatting with them for a little while, she began attending to patients with the doctor. Surprisingly, the woman from the
brothel was gone.
Thinking about her, Sibyl began working here and there until her eyes fell on the packhouse. Keshton’s face crossed her mind, sending her heart into a panic, She shook her head and went outside the clearing to retrieve a few boxes of medical supplies that were being unloaded. Carrying three heavy boxes, she began making her way back to the hospital when a hand took two boxes from her grasp.
She looked up in surprise to find Aries beside her, “Aries!”
“I knew you wouldn’t take the day off,” he chuckled.
She flashed him an embarrassed smile. “Actually, resting is not something I’m used to, plus working makes me feel better,” she explained. Spending a whole day at home doing nothing was really hard for a woman who was used to working everyday of her life. Especially one that was once a pack’s Luna.Another reason was that she didn’t want to lose today’s pay.
Just as one fills a pot drop by drop,/her debt was going to be repaid with her small daily earnings. She couldn’t risk losing that money!
Holding the boxes in one hand, Aries stretched his other hand out to touch Sibyl’s head, where she had been badly bleeding the other day. “Are you really feeling better?” he asked. Sibyl was surprised by his sudden touch and looked up at him. His baby blue eyes were full of sincere sadness. “I’m sorry I couldn’t come to help you before you were attacked.”
Sibyl stared at him for a couple of seconds. His sadness was so strong that even her heart softened, as if

she had done something wrong. “I’m really okay. Don’t blame yourself for something that you’re not responsible for,” she said, flashing him a light smile, “And…” she paused, pointing at his finger that was touching her wound ever so slightly, “That hurts.”
“Oh, s**t! Sorry,” he exclaimed, pulling his hand back.
Sibyl laughed at him, “I lied.”
Aries‘ heart skipped a beat seeing Sibyl, who was usually so serious, laughing.
His lips curled into a smile as he laughed along with her.
As they headed towards the store room, Keshton’s car pulled up in the clearing. Sibyl froze in place, her smile instantly disappearing. Keshton stepped out of the car, with Glen following behind him. Their eyes met and Sibyl felt her heart start to race. She hadn’t prepared to face him so soon after the kiss. How should she act? She clenched her fists at her sides, secretly bracing herself as he approached only he walked right past her. Sibyl stood there, stunned. The look in his eyes… it didn’t seem like the eyes of a man who had just kissed her. He seemed normal, as if they were strangers passing by. That normalcy didn’t align with what had happened between them the previous day.
“You’re back. I’ve been waiting for you…” Aries greeted Keshton as he walked past Sibyl to join the males. Sibyl’s mind went blank when she realized Keshton had just kissed her impulsively, without a second thought. He had acted on a whim, toying with her emotions. He was just playing with her.
For a moment, she had forgotten that he was also a man, with all the tendencies that came with it. The corner of her lips curled into an enraged smile as she lifted her chin and continued walking without looking
back.
Keshton slowly turned his head to watch at her vanishing figure, his eyes fixated on the scarf around her neck. His gaze darkened and his aura grew sharp, sending alarm through Glen and Aries.
“Keshton, what’s the matter?” Glen asked seriously. “Your aura has been growing more violent since yesterday. Why are you so angry?”
“It’s nothing,” Keshton curtly replied before leaving the clearing in a rage. Glen and Aries exchanged puzzled looks, unsure of what had triggered such a strong reaction in their Alpha.
