Standing by the window, Keshton lit a cigarette, enjoying the view of the burning city. The night sky was lit up with red and yellow flames, accompanied by the panicked and enraged shouts of a specific group of extraordinary humans. They were furious over the loss of a large group of hunters that had gathered for a brief meeting to plan the capture of an escaped werewolf in the city. Unfortunately, none of them had made it out alive. The handful of hunters guarding the perimeter could do nothing but watch helplessly and call for reinforcements.
“Everything is done and dusted according to your orders,” Glen mind–linked Keshton, taking a casual bite of dark chocolate while watching the fire from the convenience store across the street from the hunters‘ meeting spot that he had set ablaze moments earlier.
When the news featuring the white wolf aired on TV, Keshton immediately left the Eclipse Moon Pack without a word. His abrupt and crazed actions confirmed Glen’s suspicions that the werewolf in the city was none other than Sibyl. He had worriedly followed Keshton but couldn’t find him in the city. Instead, he received a mind–link with orders to start hunting the hunters. It was an order he couldn’t refuse, as he could feel his Alpha’s rage even through the mind–link.
“Should we retreat?” Glen asked.
“Not yet, wipe out the remaining ones too,” Keshton ordered.
“What?” Glen paused mid–chew, stunned by the unexpected command. “It will create a great mess, and the hunters aren’t stupid enough to misunderstand that this was the work of Rogue Alpha Keshton.”
Keshton cut him off, “It’s alright. They should be aware of their crimes and the punishment for touching my possession.”
“Keshton, what exactly are you thinking?” Glen asked, a mix of confusion and worry in his voice. “You killed hunters in their own territory, then sealed their fate in this deadly fire, and now you wish to wipe out every single one of them? This will clearly spark a new war between werewolves and hunters. Do you really want to go this far for a she–wolf who isn’t even a member of our pack?”
Werewolf law was incredibly strict. Breaking it, even by a family member or a high–ranking wolf meant severe punishment, often beheading if they shifted in human territory. When it came to Sibyl, Keshton had charged into the highly sensitive and deadly hunter territory, killed them, and now he was even hunting down their souls. These strange actions on Keshton’s part were deeply concerning for Glen.
Keshton turned to look at the beauty bearing his hickeys on her soft skin as she lay on the bed, practically fainted after their last wild round of sex. However, he had noticed something very strange concerning her heat during these past few hours, something that surfaced whenever he finished a round with her.
His feet subconsciously carried him to the bed, where he noticed her extremely flushed cheeks and sweating body. Her heat had returned once again.
Gently running his finger along her cheek, he felt her temperature rising abnormally. She began to moan and cry in pain. Trace had tagged along with Glen to kill some hunters and to relieve his boredom. He was an excellent warrior apart from begging a top healer in the Eclipse Moon Pack, “Call me anytime,” Trace winked as he passed her his phone number. “I will treat you for free.”
“Trace,” Keshton broke his moment by mind–link.
“I am here,” Trace mind linked back, pulling away from the counter.
“How long does a she wolf heat last?”
Trace was dumbfounded by the strange and unexpected subject that his Alpha was suddenly interested in, “Umm… for about four days if she does not have intercourse with a male wolf?” he replied in confusion.
“How many times will intercourse be necessary to relieve her of her heat?”

“I suspect there’s something more at play here,” Trace continued. “Are you fucking a mated she wolf?” Trace questioned.
Keshton glazed at Sibyl’s mark with dark eyes and replied, “What if I am?”
Trace pinched his forehead, “That’s why her heat is not going away. Her symptoms are telling that her heat is caused by her soulmate.”
Keshton’s hand tightened around his phone, nearly crushing it. How the hell had her soulmate suddenly come into play? “Are you telling me that only her soulmate can take care of her heat?”
“Well, I honestly doubt that because the symptoms she is having suggest something else…” Trace hesitated, “She is stuck in a trauma cycle.”
“Trauma cycle?” Keshton frowned and glanced at Sibyl. “She seemed fine to me.”
“Then that she–wolf is very skilled at hiding her real emotions and is strong–headed. But what I can tell you is that she is sexually traumatized, and her heat has either triggered or magnified some horrible memories in her mind,” Trace explained.
Keshton’s frown deepened as he looked at Sibyl. He recalled her crying when he first found her in the alley, murmuring and looking absolutely broken. It couldn’t have been just the heat causing her distress. He had suspicions at the time, but he knew she wouldn’t tell him anything.
Something else clicked Keshton’s mind. He lifted Sibyl’s dress up to her belly, spread her legs, and inspected her inner thighs. There was a scratch that had been bothering him, and he was having a hard time ignoring them. Could he deny that they had been caused by claws? Glen got chills for some reason, hearing the strange calmness in Keshton’s voice. The mind–link was cut right away but a very bad feeling rose in his
gut.
A half an hour later, Glen arrived at the hotel room. He avoided so much as glancing at Sibyl on the bed no matter how hard it was for him to ignore her heat. He stood next to the sofa where Keshton sat, a video playing on the laptop. It had no audio but just by watching the footage it was clear that the women had trapped Sibyl for money, then as what played out next on video came to pass Glen’s throat went bone dry for some reason.
He studied Keshton’s dark face that looked absolutely terrifying in the dim light of the room as his pair of Amber eyes focused on the three men forcing Sibyl on the bed and the fourth man standing by watching everything.
None of them had any idea that they were in a location possessed by the Rogue Alpha, and under CCTV footage. That was the normal practice for every property or even a small piece of land he owned to have security cameras installed.
The video playing on the laptop ended and the room fell into a dead silence.
“So, it was him,” Keshton murmured, under his breath, his expression unreadable.
