33.A BLACK WOLF
The delicious smell of coffee refreshed Sibyl’s senses, waking her from what felt like a very long drearm. Her vision was blurry and her mind was foggy as she tried to figure out where she was.
“You’re awake,” a familiar face appeared in front of her, smiling warmly. It was Philip, the gossiper from the hospital staff.
“You…” Sibyl looked at him in confusion.
“It’s Philip. You probably don’t know my name because you never showed any interest in talking to any males, ” he chuckled, offering his hand to help her sit up.
Sibyl hesitated but took his offered hand, allowing him to assist her into a sitting position.
Sibyl gave him an awkward smile. “Why are you here, and what is this place?” she asked, trying to sit up in the bed, only to feel great discomfort between her thighs.
“Hiss!”
She froze, recalling the steamy night she had shared with Keshton. His dirty whispers, her moaning, the wild and non–stop s*x- it all flashed through her mind. She had done it with him! She bit her lip, dreading how she would ever face him again. She had slept with her creditor to pay off her debt: Not once, but too many times to count in one night. He had seen everything!
“Are you okay? Your entire face is as red as a tomato!” Philip exclaimed.
“I’m fine,” Sibyl shook her head and sat up without making a noise before he could suspect anything. “Here,” he handed her a cup of coffee. “Healer Trace asked me to have you drink something cold. You look tired too, so drinking this will lift your mood,” he smiled.
Sibyl hesitated but took the cup. “Thank you, Philip. But where am I?”
“This is the Alpha’s packhouse. He brought you here a few hours ago,” Philip explained.
Sibyl blinked in surprise and looked around. The room was indeed beautiful but it felt more like a guest room. “He brought me to his house? Why?”
“You were in a very intense heat, a walking temptation for rogues. Even the hospital staff are rogues, so the packhouse was the safest place for you. No one would dare to step foot here,” he explained.
Sibyl raised her brows at Philip, “Then what about you?”
“You don’t need to be so defensive with me. I’m not sexually attracted to women. Actually, I’m not sexually attracted to anyone at all, so heat or anything doesn’t affect me or my wolf. I’m asexual, that’s why the Alpha assigned me to take care of you,” he sincerely explained.
Sibyl nodded and took a sip of coffee. She had really avoided talking to him in the past due to his excessive gossiping, but he turned out to be a good person.
Some time later, the phone sitting on the bedside table vibrated, interrupting their chatter. It was Sibyl’s phone.
Sibyl c****d her brows, ‘I had lost my phone in the apartment when I had to suddenly shift. How could unus

possibly be mine?‘ she wondered internally.
“Oh yeah, someone has been continuously calling you since earlier today. I put your phone on vibration your sleep wouldn’t be disturbed,” Philip explained, passing the mephone before turning toward the washroom, unaware of the fact that Sibyl’s large eyes were fixed on the name flashing across her phones
screen.
Alpha Lester. Her former father–in–law and Edwin’s father.
He was someone that had accepted her wholeheartedly when she joined the Lunar Moon Pack as Edwin’s soulmate but she became a thorn in his side when she lost her sight and became infertile. After handing over the pack and the Alpha position to his son, he invested all his time in the family business and the growth of the pack, rarely returning to the Lunar Moon Pack territory–just two or three times a month–and avoiding
Sibyl.
His dislike for Sibyl had grown over the years, to the point that he would shoot her hateful glares, blaming her for ruining his son’s life. It was so strange for her father–in–law to suddenly call her. And not just once, but too
many times.
Sibyl’s mind raced. Why was Alpha Lester calling her now?
“HOW DARE YOU DO THIS TO MY SON, SIBYL!!” Alpha Lester’s voice boomed through the phone with a fury that seemed almost tangible.
Sibyl’s brow furrowed, alarmed by his untamed aggression. “My apologies, but I don’t understand. What are you referring to? What have I done to your son?”
She was the one that had been wronged, betrayed, and cheated by his son. She should be the one that was down right furious.
“Don’t act dumb!! My son…” Alpha Lester continued his tirade, yelling accusations into the phone. Sibyl’s eyes grew larger as she heard his words, the shock and disbelief washed over her. Just then, the very familiar yet loud growl of a wolf echoed through the Eclipse Moon Pack territory.
Sibyl’s phone slipped from her hand as she flinched in shock, the device clattering to the floor. A horrible feeling rose in her heart, she immediately jumped out of the bed, and darted out of the room.
Philip coincidentally excited the washroom at the same time and was horrified to see Sibyl leaving, “SIBYL, WAIT!! YOU SHOULD NOT GO OUTSIDE!!”
He raced after her seeing as she didn’t pay attention to him at all.
As she raced through the packhouse, her mind raced with confused fear. The growl was unmistakably familiar, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something terrible was happening. She burst through the front door and into the open, her eyes scanning the surroundings for the source of the growl.
Sibyl’s breathing had grown uneven, her body started burning once again, as pain surged through her with the intensity of her heat. Despite the agony, the fear and urgency caused by the wolf’s voice propelled her towards the unsettling commotion coming from the clearing.
When she arrived, she was met with a horrifying sight. A large black wolf, chained and bleeding, was being dragged by four Eclipse Moon Pack warriors. Her eyes widened in disbelief and terror when she recognized the wolf–Edwin.
“Edwin…” she gasped, her voice barely a whisper, the shock hitting her like a physical blow. It wasn’t just the

sight of Edwin in such a state that shocked her. It was the fact that he was being thrown at the feet of…
Keshton.
Keshton stood tall, stared at the wolf on the ground with blank eyes and murmured, “Being in one piece really does not suit him.” His gaze then shifted to Sibyl standing stunned down to the mark on her neck, “A hundred would be better, and remember to start with… his d**k,” he added.
