Keshton got off the bed to stand by the window where he could see the pack’s hospital where Sibyl used to work, but she was no longer there. She was not willing to be around rogues. He still did not know the reason behind that, nor did she want to be with him. But if she stayed outside alone then… He calmly lit a cigarette and stared at the waiting area where she had sat the first time that she had come to his pack. “I have to find another way.” **** Exiting the packhouse, Keshton walked to his car only to stop by Glen, “Keshton, where are you going?” “To a meeting. What’s up?” Glen studied Keshton’s casual expression. In the two weeks since Joseph had returned, Keshton had rarely spoken and this was the first time in two weeks that he had left the packhouse. “The Red Moon Pack has sent an invitation to another ball,” Glen handed an invitation to Keshton. “You know I don’t go to parties and balls. Refuse them.” Glen signed, “Honestly I tried to refuse them but the old Alpha of the Red Moon Pack
Keshton. I just could not refuse him.” The Red Moon Pack was an ally of the Eclipse Moon Pack. It was also the first pack that Keshton made an alliance with after he created Eclipse Moon. That’s how the old Alpha of Red Moon Pack became more like a friend to Keshton, someone that he always respected. The old man clearly came so that he could put pressure on Keshton to come to the ball. Keshton rubbed his finger along the invitation thinking about something and then put it in his jacket pocket before driving out. ***** “Here is your roasted turkey and crab cake, sir,” Sibyl said, handing over the order and bill to the man who had been glancing at his watch, ready to point out a late delivery. However, she had delivered it ten minutes earlier, than promised. After accepting the payment, she rode away on the scooter provided by the restaurant, where she had been working as a delivery girl for a little more than two weeks. She did not have the luxury of seeking a stable job due to her sunglasses. So she had decided to return to her old way of life, doing odd jobs to make ends meet. After finishing all the deliveries on her list for the next few hours, Sibyl headed to her next part–time job at a mart at noon and then to a bar in the evening. Day and night blurred together as her sole focus became earning as much money as she possibly could from the different jobs she managed to get. The salary she had received from the strip club was still being wisely spent, and after a week of successfully completing the odd jobs she had collected, her bank account was brightly smiling at her. She had calculated the money she would be able to save for herself after paying the installment she owed to Keshton this/month. Since leaving the hospital job in the Eclipse Moon Pack, she had not been able to pay an installment once, and it had already been a month. But weeks of losing sleep and hard work had finally reflected positively in her bank balance. “I should treat myself to a good meal,” she happily exclaimed to herself, admiring her bank account during a five–minute break. “Sibyl, whiskey on table number five,” a staff member called. “Right away,” she replied, getting back to work while dreaming about food and a good night’s sleep. Her eyes then caught a couple sitting at the bar, kissing. The memory of Keshton kissing her in the car while promising not to break her heart surfaced in her mind. “It has been two weeks since I saw him last,” she muttered to herself. It was not just Keshton but Aries had also not come to visit her. It wasn’t like she could hide from them due to all her job changes while she was in this city. Their

sudden absence was a clear indication that something big was happening–something bigger than Stella’s death or perhaps it had been triggered by it. She checked her phone and found that Aries had still not checked the messages that she had been sending him. She had been worried about him and Trace since that day even though she had met him only once. He seemed to be the most affected by Stella’s death and Keshton seemed to not want to take either Aries or Trace’s side so that he could remain neutral. That day was the first time she had seen all four of the friends together and what she had noticed was that Trace was in love with Stella but Stella was into Aries. Though it had only been a few days earlier that Aries had confessed that he had his first love in his heart. Everything seemed to be a mess and sometimes too clear to be a big lie. Entering the changing room after her shift was over, Sibyl was absent–minded. “What exactly happened on the Eclipse Moon that day?” she wondered. After getting off work at the bar, Sibyl went straight to the place she had been visiting for a week: Kaha’s stall. “Is it closed again?” she sighed in disappointment. “You must like her sweet potatoes a lot, that’s why you come to see her every day,” the old man from the shop next to the stall remarked as he came over. Sibyl smiled softly, hiding the sadness deep in her heart. The real reason for her frequent visits to Kaha’s stall was her baby. That six–month–old infant used to bring joy to her heart whenever she caught a glimpse of it. Unlike the she–wolves back at Lunar Moon, Kaha used to let Sibyl carry her baby. But due to bad past experiences and taunts Sibyl always refused and only looked at the little innocent life in Kaha’s arms happily, so she frequently visited Kaha’s stall. “Sir, do you know why Kaha is not opening her stall? Is it because of complaints?” Sibyl inquired. “Complaints?” The old man gave a puzzled look. “Yes, someone has been complaining about her stall, right?” Sibyl suspected it was the work of jealous neighborhood shop owners. “I don’t know about complaints, but some jerks have been harassing her for the past few weeks. A week ago, they even harassed her using her baby. The poor woman was so frightened that she hasn’t returned to open her stall since that day. I don’t think she’s coming back now,” he explained.
