- Untouched Four Places
Keshton’s face showed signs of stress, as he wondered if she would accept his hand. Those moments when she stared at his hand without saying a thing felt like hours to him. His muscles tensed, and his wolf paused in his mind, uncertain about her decision. Sibyl tore her eyes from his hand and looked up at him. “Okay, let’s go,” she smiled and placed her hand in his. Keshton secretly let go of the breath he had been holding while his wolf howled in his mind in victory. “You choose the place,” he smiled and started leading her to the car. Walking by his side, Sibyl looked down at his hand, possessively locked around hers and then up at his happy face as he took off her glasses and tied her seat belt as soon as she got in the car. Her lips curled into a secret smile, and she looked outside the window to hide it from him. His honest approach and open caresses had slowly started fading the pain and suffering in her heart. She had made up her mind. She wanted to get to know him better. She wanted to figure out her own feelings for Keshton. **** Keshton drove into the Eclipse Moon Pack territory, a smile never leaving his lips since he had lunch with Sibyl. “She hates coriander,” he murmured to himself, recalling her picking it out of the soup. She claimed to eat anything to save money, but she was also picky. After sharing just one meal with her, he had learned a lot about her likes and dislikes. She was still quite conscious of him, clearly not used to experiencing such tender treatment in her life. But she slowly relaxed when Keshton started a light conversation about her part–time jobs. Her initial hesitance melted away. She had a soft, musical laugh that he found endearing. Heading to the clearing, he ran his fingers through his hair, smiling until he halted the car in front of the packhouse. His smile disappeared, as he sat there staring coldly at the packhouse. Today, he had returned alone, leaving her out in the dangerous world, but soon Keshton intended to bring her along with him. He still had to learn the cause of her strong reluctance to join his pack and her dislike of rogues. He had to wait for her to open up to him and trust him enough to share her secrets, fears, desires, and feelings. Until then, he had to stay by her side, she would agree to be with him in his pack. Getting out of the car, Keshton glanced around to find the pack quiet, everyone busy with their assigned jobs. Since Glen had left on his behalf for a meeting, Aries was handling Stella’s burial, and Trace was absent due to his rut, Keshton couldn’t leave the pack for long periods of time. He headed into the packhouse, and as soon as he entered his office, two warriors came in moments later.” Alpha, we could not find Stella’s cell phone,” they said, lowering their heads in submission. Keshton glanced at the twins, Mike and Kai, his spies within the pack. “This is not the answer I expect from you two” “We apologize, Alpha. According to your orders, we secretly searched every corner of the pack, but we could not find that cell phone,” Mike explained. “Alpha, her phone could have been dropped or thrown off the cliff too, don’t you think so?” Kai hesitantly suggested. Keshton leaned back in his chair, silently recalling the shoe marks under the banyan tree that day. He had not picked up a scent, but he spotted two sets of shoe prints besides the pair left by Stella’s sandals. The sudden calmness among the hunters, Joseph’s return, and Stella’s suicide with the disappearance of her cell phone didn’t sit right with Keshton. “Stella’s phone is in the possession of someone from the pack,” he murmured, tapping on the desk. Kai frowned. “The hunter in the pack or spy?” he suddenly realized. “Probably,” Keshton said, crossing his legs and looking up at both of them. “Are you sure that you searched every place in the pack, leaving no place untouched?” “Actually, there are four places we didn’t search, Alpha,” Mike recalled. “What places?” Keshton raised an eyebrow. Kai stepped forward. “Glen’s, Aries‘, Trace’s houses, and the packhouse!”
