In a high–end shifter hotel, the manager and Beta stared at Sibyl with surprise and admiration in his eyes.” You want to take the second shift too?” One shift already required eight hours of hard work. Sibyl had begun working at the bar and event section of the hotel. With an upcoming event around the corner, they had hired new staff but were still short–handed. Within two days of starting the tiring job, a she–wolf asking to take on a second shift was truly an unexpected surprise. “Yes, I will make sure not to disappoint you,” Sibyl replied. The man took his time to study the beautiful features of the she–wolf standing before him. She was strong and confident, yet her face was pale, her red lips slightly dry. Even though he couldn’t see her eyes behind those sunglasses, he could tell they were tired and not in good condition. He took a deep breath and remarked, “Alright, you can take the second shift. You already know that I don’t care about your sunglasses or how many shifts you take. All I care about is the reputation of this hotel. As long as you follow the rules, treat the guests like gods, and don’t tarnish the reputation of this place, we’re all good,” he said coolly. As soon as he left, a she–wolf in her 30’s paused while wiping down the bar counter and moved closer to Sibyl.” Hey newbie, are you so desperate for money that you’re taking two of these hellish shifts?” she inquired curiously. Sibyl didn’t pay attention to her and continued wiping down the glasses before the customers started arriving. The woman elbowed Sibyl playfully and carelessly said, “You seem so cold and aloof. The other day I saw you entering a very cheap share house. You seem to be in need of money. Don’t tell me you’re running away from a huge debt or worse, from a lover,” she laughed lowly, resuming her work, unaware of Sibyl’s abrupt pause. Her careless remark about debt and love brought back the painful memory of Keshton. His broken heart, sad eyes, and their last kiss raised so much pain in her heart that she felt suffocated. “I’m taking a five–minute break,” she informed the woman before hurrying to the staff room, which was currently empty. Closing the door behind her, Sibyl slowly slid down to the floor. Running away from debt or a lover? At this point in her life she had none. When Keshton left her debt had gone with him. That last kiss that they shared had marked their last meeting and they had become strangers to each other. After burying the baby, Sibyl locked herself in her apartment for the three days. All the events of that night with Keshton played on repeat in her mind the entire time, bringing tears, to her eyes again and again. And the worst part was that it also brought the memory of those rogues murdering Kaha and how that innocent life had died in her arms. Whenever she felt guilty for breaking Keshton’s heart, him defending those rogues overshadowed everything in her heart. She was torn between guilt and disgust. However, one thing was clear that her wolf was heartbroken and emotionally wounded. When Sibyl finally got a hold on herself, she realized her normal life had returned when Keshton left her life. Her debt was gone. The shackles of his obsession were no longer tying her to him, she had gained her freedom. Now there were no sweet messages that would make her morning full of smiles and there was no one removing her glasses whenever she was with him. Since she had not confessed her love to him they had ended up separating and she was the one who pushed him away but she still could not forget him even for a second. A memory she shared with him was in every corner of her apartment and when she would close her eyes she would feel him and hear him there. In the end, she left the apartment where they had made the memories. The memories that were bound to be the only fairytale in her life. She resumed her work sometime later. Finishing the first shift at the bar, she moved on to her second shift in the event hall. She worked there like a machine without glancing at the watch like other employees. The reason for her taking two shifts was that she did not wish to return to the share house she was staying and in. She did not want to let her brain even a moment alone or she was going to think about all of those things. For the past two days, she had thrown herself into nothing but work. Her second shift started at four pm ended at two am. Returning to the share house that she had rented two days ago, she threw herself down on

the bed. She had to share this place with three other girls that were sleeping in the other rooms, and the walls between the rooms were so thin that the moans of one of the girl’s having s*x with her boyfriend could be heard through them. However, it did not affect Sibyl. She simply curled up into a ball in the corner of the bed and closed her eyes.
