Chapter 10
Back at the apartment we shared, I started packing.
Not my stuff–his.
I’d paid the lease two years in advance, we had a cat and a dog here, and I’ll be damned if I let that woman Jessica benefit from a single inch of this place.
“Lauren, please–I’m begging you. Just give me one more chance, okay?”
Daniel chased me home and literally dropped to his knees.

Honestly, I think my heart raced more that day I saw the red–haired guy than it ever did for Daniel.
Maybe Daniel was always just the “logical” choice.
A good partner on paper.
But never a real lover.

Maybe I pay actually knew what love felt like
While I stood there, dazed. Daniel suddenly pulled out a ring and slipped it now my finger.
Lauren, please Just trust me one last time I ear, I’ll cut her off for good.”
1 knew him too well.
If I didn’t say yes, he’d keep growling all night like nome deranged martyr.
So I played along
Gave him a half assed nod
Then as soon as I could, I thaw a few things in a bag…
And moved in with Rachel,
