Chapter 25
The winter wind was bitter and harsh.
Isabella stood alone on an empty rooftop, her mind in turmoil.
She didn’t know why she was there, and even less why she suddenly saw the three people she least
wanted to see.
Heyar held a little boy’s hand with her left hand while her right was tucked in Lucius’s coat pocket, walking toward Isabella with an air of superiority.
“Where’s your precious daughter?”
“Where’s your precious daughter?”
That sentence echoed in Isabella’s mind like a nightmare.
She looked around frantically, searching for any trace of her daughter, but there was no one
anywhere.
When she looked up again, she saw a silver necklace gleaming coldly, making her eyes ache.
She couldn’t help but close her eyes.
When she opened them again, she’d pulled herself out of the dream and back to reality.
Dawn light filtered through the window, and the bedside lamp illuminated the calendar.
Today was December 7th.
On this same day in her past life, kidnappers had abducted her daughter and pushed her from a
rooftop.
And she had dreamed of that scene again in the early hours of this morning.
She was breathing heavily, trying to wipe the cold sweat from her forehead.
As soon as she moved her hand, the slight motion woke Lucius, who was sleeping beside her.

He opened his eyes groggily, his voice thick with sleep.
“Bad dream?”
Isabella didn’t want him to worry, so she shook her head gently,
“Just a little warm. I’ll adjust the air conditioning. Go back to sleep–it’s still early.”
He mumbled an acknowledgment and quickly fell back asleep.
But Isabella couldn’t fall back asleep for a long time.
She kept replaying the dream scenes in her mind.
But memories fade so quickly that by morning, the only thing she could remember clearly was that
necklace.
The necklace, the necklace.
What could it possibly mean?
As Isabella thought about it, she unconsciously placed her hand at her throat.
She felt nothing there.
That empty feeling made her shiver as she remembered something from the past.
The reason she’d returned the necklace to Ronan was because Heyar had wanted it!
Heyar had been so jealous of her life, wanting to steal everything she had–and that would definitely
include the necklace.
When Ronan was dying, he’d held onto that necklace–was he trying to tell her that Heyar was the
one who killed him?
Realizing this, Isabella felt a coldness run through her.
All the things that had confused her for so long suddenly became crystal clear.
In her past life, when Heyar was with Ronan, there were two major obstacles blocking her path to becoming Mrs. Moretti.

First: Isabella and Celeste, who held the titles of Ronan’s wife and daughter.
Second: Lucius, who controlled the entire Moretti family empire.
So she’d struck ruthlessly, orchestrating the car accident and kidnapping to eliminate both obstacles.
In this lifetime, because Isabella had seized the initiative, the story had taken a different turn.
At twenty–seven, Heyar had lost both parents, served six years in prison, and her life was in ruins.
Having fallen so far, with her personality, she would definitely seek revenge after being released.
Now Ronan was dead.
Next, it would be her and Lucius’s turn, along with the children.
And today happened to be December 7th.
Everything was lining up exactly like her past life.
So it had all been a conspiracy.
After completely understanding the situation, Isabella hurriedly shook awake the person beside her, urging him to get up quickly.
The barely–sleeping Lucius was dragged to the police station.
After the couple found the officer handling the car accident case, Isabella brought up the necklace.
The police quickly used this lead to track down Heyar’s whereabouts.
The couple stayed home guarding their two children all day, finally receiving a call from the police
at dusk.
‘Mrs. Moretti, based on the lead you provided, we successfully arrested Heyar and her accomplices outside the kindergarten. She has confessed to all criminal charges.”
Hearing this outcome, the mountain of worry that had been weighing on Isabella’s heart instantly crumbled away.
The two innocent daughters, seeing their mother’s expression relax, finally dared to run into her arms and act cute.

“Mommy, I’m hungry! I want fried chicken!”
“Don’t make chicken for little sister–she lost a tooth yesterday and can’t eat it. Can we have shrimp
instead?”
All day long, all they thought about was food.
A flash of helplessness crossed Isabella’s eyes as she nudged Lucius and nodded toward the kitchen.
“The kids are hungry. Shouldn’t you be more proactive?”
Lucius consciously stood up, but as soon as he took a step, both children grabbed onto him.
“If Daddy’s cooking, let’s just eat out!”
“Or we can ask Aunt Nanny to cook. I won’t eat Daddy’s food–it’s way too salty!”
The family’s laughter and playful noise gradually drifted away among the thousands of lights beginning to twinkle across the city.
Tonight, with rolling green mountains and drifting clouds in the distance, it was the most beautiful
time in the human world.
