Chapter 7
Jackson said nothing, but seeing Vanessa’s wounded expression made him feel instinctively guilty.
‘It’s not that. I’m just tired today, and you must be exhausted too. Next time, okay?”
Vanessa pressed her lips together and agreed. She had just learned from her mother that Mia had consented to the divorce, and she knew Jackson had already signed the divorce papers. They were just one step away from everything returning to how it was four years ago, with all truths buried
forever.
‘Jackson, Mia has apologized to us, and Emma can officially take the Harrison name now. So doesn’t
that mean… we can go back to how we used to be?”
Jackson was momentarily stunned.
‘What do you mean…?”
From somewhere, Vanessa produced the signed divorce agreement and held it out to Jackson, her
eyes brimming with excitement.
‘Mia has agreed to the divorce!”
The Harrison family butler suddenly interrupted their conversation:
‘Sir, Madam had asked that Mrs. Harrison join us at the family estate after the party, but Mrs. Harrison left early. Madam is quite upset…”
Jackson tiredly rubbed his brow.
‘I understand. You can head back first. I’ll make sure Mia visits the family estate early tomorrow.”
After dismissing the butler, Jackson stared down at the agreement, a strange feeling settling in his chest.
He immediately realized this was what Mia had made him sign in front of everyone earlier. He suddenly felt regret – he should have read it more carefully.
Yet deep down, he knew Vanessa was right. What happened four years ago was a mistake, and now was the time to strike while the iron was hot and put an end to it!

Seeing his former love so excited, he forced a smile, not wanting to dampen Vanessa’s spirits.

“…Alright. Önce the divorce is finalized, we’ll get married.”
Despite his words, Jackson’s heart sank. He rushed back to the mansion he hadn’t visited in a long
time.
At the mansion, all of Mia and Lily’s belongings had been cleared out.
Jackson felt a strange sensation and immediately questioned the staff.
“Who told you to remove all of my wife and daughter’s things?”
The servant trembled at his harsh tone, voice shaking.
“It was Mrs. Harrison, sir. She said she didn’t want any of it anymore and told us to take everything
out and burn it.”
Jackson’s throat tightened, his chest constricting.
He released the servant’s hand, took off his coat, loosened his tie, and walked into the living room to
gulp down some water.
Looking around, he didn’t see her familiar figure anywhere.
He turned and headed upstairs, but the upper floor was dark and empty.
‘Where is she?”
The servant shook his head.
‘Mrs. Harrison said she was taking the young miss out for a while. She told us not to wait up.”
His agitated heart was instantly calmed.
jackson sighed.
‘I suppose that makes sense. A sudden divorce must be difficult for her to accept.”
He wasn’t unaware that Mia had feelings for him, but his subconscious insisted he couldn’t betray
Vanessa.

Chapter 7
Yes, he couldn’t betray Vanessa. What he had with Vanessa was true love.
As for Mia, after the divorce, whether as her ex–husband or her future brother–in–law, he still had every right to be concerned about her life.
Once Jackson had calmed down, he suddenly thought that divorce might not be so bad after all.
In the days that followed, he devoted himself to preparing for his and Vanessa’s wedding of the century.
