Chapter 6
Looking at him, I suddenly found it hilarious.
Brant had become pathetic in an instant, as if he were the one being played for a fool.
I said nothing and turned to follow the boarding line. Brant’s tears suddenly started falling as he reached out toward me desperately.
“You know everything?”
“Vivian, I didn’t mean it–let me explain!”
“It was Selene–it was all her idea!”
Amy let out a soft laugh, swinging her little feet in my arms as she looked at Brant and Selene.
“Then Daddy, why did you go along with a bad person to trick Mommy?”
Both of them were left speechless. I seized the moment to turn around and finally boarded the plane home.
My little estate had been professionally maintained for years, so it remained pristine and beautiful.
The moment Amy stepped through the estate gates, her eyes widened with excitement:
“Mommy, is this where we’re going to live from now on?”
“It’s amazing! Amy loves it here!”
Seeing her reaction, I felt some relief.
I’d been worried Amy was only angry on the surface but still missed Brant deep down. Apparently I’d been overthinking.
Amy loved it here–running around the grounds, lying on the grass in the sunshine, having a blast. By eight in the evening, she’d retreated to her little bed to sleep.
Looking at the beautiful scenery around me, I suddenly remembered the past.
Back then, to prove his love for me, Brant would constantly fly between America and France.
In this very estate, he’d hold my hand and talk with me, as if my presence mattered more than his multi–million–dollar deals.
At the time, I truly was moved by such devotion.
Now, regardless of what happened before, we were finally separated.

Chapter 6
I sighed, about to head back to my room, when I spotted a dark figure rapidly approaching at the end of the road.
Alert, I quickly hid behind a large tree in the courtyard.
When I looked again, I could clearly make out the approaching figure. It was Brant.
He’d actually followed me here?
After eight years together, we knew each other well. It wasn’t surprising he’d figured out I’d come here.
But why was he abandoning his multi–million–dollar business and leaving Selene–whose month wasn’t up yet–to
come find me?
I slowly emerged from behind the tree. As I reached the estate’s iron gate, Brant was raising his hand to press the
doorbell.
Seeing me come out, he couldn’t hide the joy in his eyes.
“Vivian, I knew you’d forgive me.”
“I’ve already sent Selene away. Vivian, can we go back to how things were before?”
He looked down at me, eagerly awaiting my response.
