“Anything is fine. I’m not picky,” a clear voice came from inside.

Alright, Louis was easier to take care of than she had imagined. Freya bounced back to the table and continued typing.
After finishing another chapter, she suddenly remembered the app she used to sell second–hand items and quickly opened it. To her surprise, twelve bags and two sets of clothes had already sold.
She wasn’t very familiar with the value of luxury goods, so when she listed them, she first checked their prices online, then priced them at 80 percent of that. Many of the items hadn’t been opened, but she was worried that Louis might need money urgently, so she didn’t dare price them too high. She had even feared that no one would buy them if they were too expensive, but it turned out they sold quite quickly.
She wrote down the addresses for delivery, saved the files, and then ran to her room to gather the bags and clothes. Since there were a lot of items to send, she planned to have someone pick them up.
Half an hour later, everything was packed, and the pickup person arrived. Louis, probably hearing the noise, opened the door.
“What are you doing?” Louis frowned as he realized something wasn’t right.
While Freya had the delivery person record the information, she didn’t look up as she replied, “I had too many clothes and bags before. I’m not going out now, and they take up too much space, so I decided to sell some. These are the ones I sold today. I need to ship them to the buyers.”
Louis grabbed her hand, which was holding her phone, stopping her. “No need. We’re not at the point where you need to sell things.”
Freya paused before responding, “It’s just that they take up space, and they’re not from the latest season. I wouldn’t use them anyway, so I might as well sell them and turn them into cash. That way, if I see something I like in the future, I’ll be able to buy it.”
She thought this explanation was enough to save Louis‘ pride. She felt like she was being considerate.
However, for some reason, something she said seemed to affect Louis. He trembled slightly while holding her hand before letting go. He didn’t stop her and simply said, “Alright. Buy new ones in the future.”
How could I afford new ones? One bag costing tens of thousands of dollars was enough to cover half a year’s living expenses. Buying a few would leave me eating nothing but dirt.
She silently grumbled about it in her mind but showed no trace of it on the outside. Men, after all, cared about reputation. She smiled brightly. “Alright, I’ll wait until you buy me new bags.”
Louis, slightly stunned by the smile on the face he was familiar with but recently feeling quite distant, lowered his head. He saw the boxes on the floor and bent down to pick them up, helping the delivery person put them in the large bag.
It wasn’t until the delivery person left with the items that Louis asked Freya, “How many do you plan to sell?”
Freya thought for a moment. “Originally, there were over a hundred bags and more than eighty sets of clothes. Of those, more than seventy bags were unopened. I plan to sell all of them. As for the remaining fifty, I’ll sell about thirty. I’ll keep twenty bags. For the clothes, I’ll keep about thirty sets and sell the rest.”
She expected Louis to stop her, but to her surprise, he simply nodded and didn’t say anything further. He casually grabbed an apple and started peeling it while sitting on the couch.
Freya couldn’t figure out what he was thinking. She didn’t know if her actions had hurt his pride as a man, but life was more important than these random thoughts. Even if he minded, there was nothing she could do about it.
