The others quickly regained their composure, welcoming Freya politely in unison.

Louis strolled to her side and casually addressed the crowd. “I just brought her to look around. Get back to work–don’t slack off.”
A collective groan erupted.

“Exactly! Louis, you’ll regret this! We want to bond with Freya!”
“Louis, we’ve already over–delivered today. We request a break to show Freya around! The lab has so many cool things–we can give her the full tour!”
“Right! It’s Freya’s first time here. We need to make her feel at home. If you shoo us away, she’ll think you don’t welcome her. That’s not right!”
“Plus, only we know how some of these gadgets work. Let us guide her and show her how fun our projects are!”
Derek stepped forward with a chuckle, shielding Louis and Freya.
“By that logic, Freya belongs to you all now? Just because you’re single doesn’t mean you can forget she’s married. Why interfere with a couple’s bonding time? What? Begging for their show of love?”
In unison, they declared, “Then we’ll see! Come on!”
Derek was completely speechless.
These people have clearly lost it from overtime.

Whether I get to try anything depends on Louis. These people welcomed me because they thought I’m Louis’s wife. If they knew the truth, their excitement would likely vanish.
But facing such earnest enthusiasm, Freya wouldn’t dampen their spirits.
Researchers were inherently genuine, and I adored that about them. With my natural soft spot for those in R&D, I’d never crush their eagerness.
