Louis gave a slight nod. “Yes.”
Freya’s chilled heart warmed just a little.
Louis is an enigma, but he doesn’t seem to have any ulterior motives toward me. If anything, he’d treated me well–like now, bringing me to this research facility.
This is a highly confidential place, yet he’d allowed me to see it. That had to count as trust, right?
As for the divorce… Well, I only had myself to blame. If I’d just agreed back then, none of this would’ve happened. Now, Louis was stuck in this mess, and who knew? Maybe he wanted out even more than I did. His time and youth were far more valuable than mine.
