Freya had expected an event like this to involve all kinds of formalities. But to her surprise, there weren’t any. After Mr. Cooper finished his short speech from the platform, the handsome young man beside him took a step forward and bowed to the guests. The hall erupted in applause.
Behind Cooper stood a stunningly dressed woman. She looked sweet and innocent, but she had to be at least in her twenties. There was something oddly mismatched about her appearance–Freya couldn’t quite put her finger on it, but it felt off.
After that, Mia said a few more polite words, and that was it. But it was as if a switch had been flipped; the atmosphere instantly changed. The room came alive.
