Freya was completely confused at first. But then she remembered that Jasmine and Waylon were coming today. She smacked her forehead–of course, she’d done something dumb. Pulling out her phone, she saw five missed calls. She’d silenced it earlier while playing the game and hadn’t heard a single one.
The staff member led her to the top floor and knocked on the door. “Mr. Graham, Mrs. Graham is here.”
“Come in.”
Freya stepped inside and, sure enough, it was the same group from earlier. The staff closed the door and left. Freya was about to sit beside Jasmine when Waylon quickly said, “Freya, come sit inside. No need to be so polite.”
He stood up and let her pass. Freya couldn’t really refuse, so she ended up sitting beside Louis.
“Freya, we were just talking about the game earlier. You played it too–what did you think?” Kendrick, as usual, already treated her like one of their own and didn’t hold back.
“I thought it was really fun, but I just went in for a look today. I’ll really start playing tomorrow. There was a lot I didn’t explore yet; I’ll take a better look then.”
During that meal, Freya could clearly feel that Baylon and Kendrick had warmed up to her a lot. Even Quinton was treating her casually now. As for Waylon, his mind was clearly on Jasmine. It was the rest of the group who chatted more, and that helped Freya gain a deeper understanding of the gaming industry.
She had to admit–even Baylon and Kendrick, who were often mocked by Waylon and Louis, showed remarkable insight and savvy when it came to business. That confident, high–level perspective wasn’t something just anyone could possess.
This must be the difference between people born into powerful families and regular folks. Freya thought with quiet awe. I’m definitely going to write these guys into my novel later.
After lunch, Freya got ready to head home. Louis asked Derek to driver. That afternoon, she took a nap and went right back to writing afterward.

The ice crystal spider spun in frantic circles, spitting webs. Freya rolled and dodged just in time, and the icy thread hit Baylon instead. He was instantly frozen into an ice statue, though that didn’t stop him from talking.

“Hang on, I’ve got my hands full!” Freya called out as she ran. She swung her hammer at the spider mid–sprint; each strike bounced back automatically, drawing all the aggro tightly onto her.
“Louis, look at Freya! Come save me, I want to fight too!” Baylon turned to Louis for help.
But Louis was completely focused on playing his flute, unfazed by the plea. Waves of sonic attacks surged from his notes, slamming into the ice crystal spider.

“Well, if your skills weren’t so weak, who else should I pick on?” Kendrick happened to be free and didn’t hold back his disgust. “Freya’s a girl, running at the front lines dragging the boss–she’s already doing more than enough. You could at least dodge on your own. And you’ve got the nerve to ask her to help you? Seriously?”
Freya chimed in while still running, “Exactly! I’ve been sprinting like a rabbit pulling this boss around. Even if you can’t dodge, use a skill to block it or something. Your hand speed from twenty–some years of singlehood can’t be that bad, right?”
