Freya had no choice but to turn on her mic and say, “Hi everyone, I’m the person Kendrick just mentioned. Nice to meet you all.”
The chat immediately filled with comments about Freya: “Hi Freya, your voice is making my ears pregnant; it’s so beautiful! I want to hear more!”

“Alright, quiet down, everyone. It’s not that I don’t want Freya to show her face–it’s that Louis doesn’t want her to. She’s his wife, after all. And look, Freya really is stunning. If you all saw her and fell in love, then what? I’d be a has–been overnight. Better if you don’t see her.”
The chat was full of laughter again: “Don’t worry, Kendrick. Even if Freya were as beautiful as a goddess, you’d still be our favorite. We’ll always love you.”
“Even without Freya, you’re still destined to be a has–been. Might as well accept it. If she doesn’t show her face, how are we supposed to know what she really looks like? Acting like it’s some big secret.”

But Kendrick made a clarification, “To those saying I quit acting, let me clear that up. I never said I quit. I’ve just shifted my focus for now. I could never fully quit; not in this lifetime. If a really great script comes along, I might come back. But everything else I won’t be taking on anymore.”

Some were still attacking him; others defended him. Kendrick no longer paid them any mind. He opened the login screen for the game and began his commentary, “Alright everyone, that’s enough. We’ve spent way too long on unrelated nonsense. Back to the point. I’m here today to livestream this VR MMO game for you–that’s what really matters. Let’s stay on topic.”

He then started introducing the game’s unique features. Freya wasn’t needed for this part. She listened for a bit, but since/it was all stuff she already understood, she n stream and pulled up her document to start working on her novel.
About half an hour later, just as Kendrick finished explaining the game’s core features, Freya got up to stretch. She turned her head–and saw Louis next door, watching them.
