Her joy for him came purely from the heart. From a friend’s perspective, it felt great to see someone who had been good to her go

Feeling genuinely glad, Freya shot Louis a message.
“Congrats on the comeback! Even people on our set are buzzing about the VR game–some are already talking about buying pods! Just here to deliver a little cheer and say.. don’t forget about us little people when you hit it big. Save me a spot on the ride up!”
She figured Louis probably wouldn’t see it–launch day had to be hectic. After sending the message, she went back to scrolling through Twitter and reading the news.
Meanwhile, in the main conference room at RealitySplit Group, the presenter was passionately giving their report. The room. was locked in, the atmosphere upbeat–until a sudden message alert chimed out of nowhere. The speaker paused, and everyone turned their heads at once.
The sound had come from the desk at the head of the table.

Wait.. Wasn’t that a different ringtone than usual?
Without missing a bear, Louis said calmly, “You can keep going.”
Then he casually picked up his phone and checked the message. It was Freya’s. Not only did he read the whole thing, he started typing back immediately–fingers flying across the screen.
“You’ve already got a seat–right up front.”
A custom notification sound, followed by an instant reply from the boss–yeah, something was definitely up. Odds were that message came from someone very important. For the first time ever, it had to be from someone special.
Their boss had never reacted like that before. But then again, today was a big day. Of course the boss’s significant other would be concerned. So the group politely tucked away their curiosity and kept their expressions neutral.
Everyone, stay cool. It’s totally normal for her to check in–it’s a big day, after all. No need to make a thing out of it. Just remember to show her a little more respect next time; that’s all
Louis sat at the head of the table, calm and unreadable, not a flicker of emotion on his face. It was as if all the chaos and hype outside the room had nothing to do with him at all. That quiet composure gave everyone in the room another surge of confidence.
Look at our boss, they thought. Steady as ever. Nothing shakes him. Even if something goes aideways today, we’ll be fine. Hell handle it. No doubt about it.
Back at home. Freya blinked at her screen.

She smirked to herself. Nah, he was probably just teasing. She hadn’t actually expected anything–she was just messing around. It was just a playful line. She hadn’t expected him to offer her anything anyway. It was just a joke. She smiled, put her phone down, and went back to browsing.
As expected, the trending topics were all about the VR game. What caught her off guard was that Louis himself had made it onto the trending list too. She immediately clicked on it.
Louis had a Twitter account 100, though it looked super official. The bio said he was the chairman of RealitySplit Group, and the latest post had gone up that morning–officially announcing the launch of the full–dive VR game.
