Louis believed this incident was an accident.
Unless Zane had lost his mind, there was no way he’d intentionally hurt Freya. If it turned out otherwise, I would have to settle the score with Zane later.

After a while, the wound was finally treated. Freya shifted slightly, and Louis released her ankle, asking Dr. Marcus if there was anything else to keep in mind.
Dr. Marcus cheerfully listed a bunch of instructions.
“Stick to light, easily digestible meals. Focus on foods rich in vitamins and protein since they help with wound healing. Avoid high–sugar, high–sodium, or high–fat foods. Stay away from anything too stimulating, like spicy dishes–ginger, garlic, chili peppers–since they can cause swelling and pain, slowing down recovery. Also, skip foods that might lead to scarring, like lamb or beef. And no smoking or alcohol.”
Freya’s head spun.
The way Dr. Marcus put it, it sounded like she couldn’t eat anything at all.
Louis nodded, committing everything to memory. Glancing at Freya’s deflated expression, he felt both amused and exasperated but didn’t comfort her. Instead, he turned to Zane.
“Given what happened today, I’ll take Freya home. We’ll see how she’s doing tomorrow before deciding if she can return to set.”
The fact that Louis wasn’t holding a grudge or demanding compensation was enough to make Zane sigh in relief. As for taking time off–well, Freya hadn’t had a single break since joining the crew. A couple days of rest now was perfectly reasonable.
“Of course, no problem at all. Rest is important for recovery. If there’s anything you need from us, just say the word. We’ll take responsibility where it’s due.“,
Just don’t blame us for things that aren’t our fault.
Louis shot Zane a look but didn’t respond. Suddenly, he bent down and scooped Freya up in a princess carriage, turning to leave.
Freya startled, instinctively squirming, but Louis stopped her. “Don’t move. You’ll irritate the
wound.”

Truthfully, Freya didn’t think she needed time off. Who hadn’t dealt with scrapes like this before? Making a big deal out of such a minor injury felt ridiculous.
But with Louis looking so stern, she didn’t dare argue. She had no idea why he’d shown up in the first place–was there something important he needed? If she’d derailed his plans because of this injury, she’d feel awful.
Louis tilted his head toward Derek, who’d been standing uselessly to the side. “Grab her things.”
Only then did Freya notice Derek was here too. He quickly gathered her belongings from the ground and followed Louis to the car, rushing ahead to open the door.
It wasn’t until Freya was settled in the backseat that she realized something was off. “Wait, how did you guys drive into the studio lot?”
“Ms. Stone,” Derek said with an easygoing smile, “rules are for most people. For those with connections and resources, certain exceptions aren’t strictly enforced.”
Louis, sitting beside Freya and carefully supporting her leg, added, “I know the owner of the studio.”
Ah, that explains it. Of course they wouldn’t bend the rules without reason.
After they left, the set erupted in chatter–especially among the supporting cast and actresses, who were either envious or bitter.
“That’s Ms. Stone’s husband, right? The one Mr. Kendrick mentioned–his good friend? He’s seriously handsome. And that aura of his? Most guys would look like peasants next to him. Even Jasper pales in comparison–standing beside him, he just looks like some sidekick.”
“Well, duh. One’s a celebrity who relies on his face, the other’s a self–made CEO. Of course they’re different. But honestly, looks and money aside, the way he ‘dotes on his wife? Did you see how worried he was when he noticed her injury? My heart can’t take it.”
“Ugh, this is the first time I’ve felt physically pained by someone else’s relationship. Comparison really is the thief of joy. If my boyfriend had even one percent of his charm or looks, I wouldn’t be so miserable. Why does the universe always stack all the good stuff on one person?”
