“Let’s talk about it when we get back tonight.” Louis took a sip of juice. Since he said it wasn’t important, Freya didn’t think much of it either.
The chatter around them had quieted a bit, but the gossiping only grew more intense.
“Did you see that? He’s even feeding her! Oh my god, I never imagined someone like him would actually do something like that. This must be what they call doting on your wife–like a real–life overbearing CEO in love!”
“Don’t be jealous, don’t be bitter–if you’re jealous and bitter, you’ve already lost. And this is nothing. If you think about how he rushed over early in the morning just to see our screenwriter, you’ll feel even worse. If this isn’t true love, then I don’t know what is–I might just give up on love altogether.”
“I do feel terrible. Do you think it’s because we’re just too ugly? Is that why love never comes our way? Otherwise, why do all the good–looking people seem so happy, while I’m still single and struggling to make something of myself?”
“You make it sound like someone like our screenwriter doesn’t have to work hard. I overheard her talking to Clara the other day–said she still had to write late into the night after going home. She barely ever sleeps before ten, and real rest doesn’t start till midnight. She works hard too, okay? You think she’s just busy during the day?”
“It’s not the same. She’s busy for the so–called dream; she could relax but chooses to hustle. We’re busy for survival, like we don’t have a choice. Ugh, let’s not talk about this anymore- it’s just depressing.”
“Well, you could make an effort too. If you think you’re not good–looking, start working on your figure, learn to do makeup. If you think you’re not making enough money, pick up a new skill, do some side gigs. We can all find something else to do when we’re not filming. Life is what you make of it. One day, when you’ve made your money, get yourself a young hottie –upgrade your genes for the next generation. Maybe your kids will end up gorgeous.”
“Yeah right, I don’t buy it. Look at the entertainment industry–plenty of stunning people, but some of their kids still end up looking like a mess. Just goes to show, even if the parents. have good genes, it doesn’t always work out. What if the kid just happens to take after all the bad parts?”
“Stop! That’s brutal! Hey hey hey–look, they’re feeding each other again. Tacy’re making breakfast look like a damn love scene. I went out of my way to buy my favorite lean pork congee, and now it just doesn’t taste good anymore.”

“My bun doesn’t even smell good now either. Ugh, I can’t watch this anymore. Let’s just kick over this bowl of dog food–let the pretty couple feed each other all they want. I’m gonna date someone ugly. Don’t tell me good–looking people are hard to find–at this rate, even the ugly ones are starting to look appealing!”
Freya was completely unaware of all the attention. She happily munched on the lovingly prepared breakfast Louis had brought her.
Everything was sweet and cozy–until someone showed up to ruin the vibe.
Just as she was about done and about to throw away the trash, Sophia showed up again,
dressed in a traditional costume and looking quite pretty.
“Freya, I still don’t think I fully understand the character. Oh? Isn’t that Mr. Graham? Here to see Freya again?”
For the first time, Freya found Sophia’s act a little too put–on. She’d obviously seen Louis the moment she arrived–he was hard to miss standing there like that. Yet she waited till she got closer to pretend she’d just noticed him.
“Yeah, he came to see me. What’s up? Having trouble with the role?”
Sophia brushed off the question casually, but immediately steered the topic back to Louis.
“Maybe it’s just my acting that’s the problem. By the way, Mr. Graham, you’ve been coming here a lot lately. Aren’t you usually busy? VR MMO’s been trending hard lately–must be a lot going on, right?”
“Since he had everything planned in advance, it hasn’t been that hectic. And to come see me, he made sure to finish everything early,” Freya replied for him again.
“Oh, no reason, I was just curious. Actually, I’ve been wanting to buy a game pod too–just haven’t been able to get my hands on one.”
Sophia was burning inside. What do you mean he rushed to wrap things up just to see Freya?
They were making it sound like their relationship was so deep. Louis definitely didn’t come here just for Freya!
But then she thought of the photo she’d already arranged to be sent to Lou and felt a little better. Maybe he just hadn’t seen it yet–but that was fine. He would, eventu y. And once he did, he’d definitely divorce Freya.
