The woman who’d tapped her on the shoulder was flanked by two others, all dressed just as flamboyantly.
Even Freya, who barely knew the first thing about luxury goods, could tell that the woman who touched her was wealthier than the other two. The three of them clearly followed her lead.
“And you are?” Freya asked, feeling like the woman looked familiar, but unable to place her right away.
The woman’s already frosty expression turned even colder. “Oh? So now that you’re rich, you don’t even recognize your old friends?”
Freya was completely baffled. She’d already run through her inherited memories at lightning speed and found no trace of this woman anywhere–which, at the very least, meant she hadn’t been anyone important to the original host.
Freya thought. This woman didn’t show up at all when Louis was down and out. But now, suddenly, she appears? There’s no way she was some close friend of the original host’s. Who is she trying to fool with this act?
Freya smiled and looked at the woman with mock concern.

“What are you talking about? Josie just had a little work done on her nose–how’s that a full- on disguise?” one of the women, the one in blue, spoke up to defend her.

This was Josie, the youngest daughter of the Millie family. No wonder Freya hadn’t recognized her–she’d gotten/cosmetic surgery.

“Oh? So it really was a nose job? That makes sense. No wonder I didn’t recognize her–what a transformation.”
Freya recalled that Josie was your typical spoiled rich girl–sweet but kind of ditzy. The Millie family had decent power, but Josie herself didn’t hold any real authority. Her relationship with the original host had been more of a superficial, fair–weather friendship. Still, she was a bit better off–after all, she was the legitimate daughter of the family head.
“What nonsense are you spouting? Who got a nose job?” Josie immediately turned to scold her tag–along.
The woman in blue looked a little hurt, but she seemed to realize she’d said too much and quickly fell silent.
“I’ve just been massaging my nose bridge a lot lately–that’s why it looks higher,” Josie forced an explanation.
“Hm,” Freya replied neutrally. She didn’t say whether she believed it or not; she just didn’t want to call her out to her face. With how prominent that nose is now, unless you broke it from too much pinching, there’s no way that’s natural.
Josie saw the disbelief in Freya’s eyes–and then looked at Freya’s face. A surge of irritation

“Well, look at you. Haven’t seen you in a few days and you’re practically a whole new person. What, stuck by Mr. Graham through the rough patch and now you’ve made it to the top? So you’ve got time to shop now? That’s some sacrifice you pulled–really playing up the whole picture–perfect partner routine.”

You have to kiss up to keep it, how miserable is that? Just look at our Josie–she’s the Millie family’s daughter. No matter what, she has people who love her and money to spend.”

“What nonsense are you talking about? Everything she said was true. It’s not like you aren’t relying on someone else either. You’re just lucky you landed someone like Mr. Graham–he’s generous and doesn’t nickel and dime you over petty expenses.”

“By your logic, once you get married, you’d better not spend a cent of your husband’s money -since that would be wealth you begged for. You should be self–sufficient and keep everything strictly separate.”
The two women were completely stumped. If it wasn’t about landing a rich husband, there had to be another reason they kept hanging around Josie. It wasn’t like they were doing it for a bit of pocket money–they hadn’t sunk that low.
