The group chat continued.
“Hahaha, exactly! Hurry up, Josic, add her to the group chat. We haven’t seen her in ages- time to catch up properly!”
“You guys add her if you want. I’m not interested in dealing with her. Besides, she clearly wasn’t thrilled to see me today–that stuck–up look on her face made me sick. You handle it
“Wait, did she actually clap back at you? No way. Since when does our sharp–tongued Josie get outplayed?”
“You’re missing the point. I never liked her to begin with. If you want her in the group, do it yourselves. I just can’t stand her.”
“Fine, fine, we’ll do it. No need for you to get involved.”
The messages flew privately between them, none of it in the main chat. They all silently agreed–Josie must’ve gotten humiliated by Freya today. Maybe even Louis shut her down. Why else would she be so bitter about watching the drama unfold?
Josie smirked as she exited the chat.
Hypocrites. Acting like they just want to laugh at Freya, when really, they’re probably scrambling to suck up to her. We’re all the same–no one’s fooling anyone.
Still, I had to admit, Freya wasn’t the same pushover she used to be. I might still dislike her, but the others wouldn’t get far trying to manipulate her now.

“Freya might be trash, but she’s got history–she saved Mr. Edward once. And let’s be real, do either of you have her looks? Right now, she’s the loyal woman who stood by Mr. Graham through hard times. Whether it’s true or not, that’s how he sees her. You noticed how gentle he was with her? That’s for her only. Barge in uninvited, and you’ll regret it. He’s not some harmless puppy.”

The two women exchanged glances. Josie’s attitude toward Freya had done a complete 180.
Earlier, she’d been all disdain and eye–rolls–why else would we have egged her on?
Internally unimpressed, they still plastered on grateful smiles. The woman in blue spoke first.
“We’re just small–town girls, you know how it is. Mr. Graham seemned so approachable earlier, we thought we’d help you break the ice.”
Josie snorted.

She couldn’t even muster the energy to smack them down.
“Sure. How thoughtful of you.”
Aiden clung to Freya’s hand as they walked away, still grumbling.

“Relax, even if I turned into a swamp monster, I wouldn’t touch plastic surgery. This face is my parents‘ gift–no returns or exchanges. But don’t judge her too harshly. Everyone wants to feel beautiful. It’s not illegal to try.”
Freya had zero interest in altering her own looks, but she wasn’t about to shame others for their choices. Better to correct Aiden now before the kid developed some superiority complex.
“Fine, forget her. Freya, keep shopping. If anyone else bothers you, just yell for us.” Aiden released her hand, dragging Louis back to their seats while Freya resumed browsing
By the time she called it quits, Freya had bought over 20 outfits, a dozen‘ accessories to sink a small boat. She’d never splurged like this in her life.

Aiden blinked. “But don’t you get that itch when you love something and just have to own it? And twelve bags? That’s nothing. Even I know you need at least one of every type.”
