One person doing this was one thing–but when it was several people, even a fool would’ve noticed something was off. There was no way it was a coincidence. Who all just happened to go shopping at the exact same time?
Were they playing some kind of truth or dare game or something? But no, some were sending pictures, others were sending links. That didn’t really make sense either.
Freya couldn’t figure it out, and her instincts told her something was weird. So she decided not to reply for now. Since she didn’t understand the situation, she’d just ask Louis what to do later. These were trust fund kids, after all–better to be cautious.
But she didn’t even need to wait for Louis. Aiden bounced over and immediately noticed something was off with her. As soon as he found out what was going on, he gave her a look of pure mockery.
Seeing such a tiny little person pull a mocking expression made Freya burst into laughter. “What are you laughing at? Don’t laugh like that–you look hilarious.”
“Oh please, they’re obviously just trying to start a conversation with you. Holographic gaming is blowing up right now, and Uncle’s net worth is skyrocketing by the day. Plus, you’re the one he dotes on the most. Of course they’re trying to get on your good side.”
Aiden rolled his eyes. “Girls only ever talk about clothes and drama anyway. Same with the girls in my class. They’re just using shopping as an excuse to connect with you. You don’t need to bother about them. You’ve got all the power here–they’re the ones trying to suck up
to you.
“You think I don’t know that? I’m just debating whether to respond or not. They’re not exactly the kind of people worth investing in, but it’s not like I need to go out of my way to offend them either. The problem is, I’m just not interested in anything they’re talking about.”
“Then don’t stress about it. Just say you’re busy. Seriously, you’ve got nothing to worry about. None of them are at the center of their families anyway. “Who would I even tell? I spend all my time with you and your uncle. I barely have any friends, there’s no one to tell even if I wanted to. Besides, anyone in business with half a brain could guess as much. And people outside that world wouldn’t care anyway. Don’t worry about it.”
If that weren’t the case, those girls probably wouldn’t be acting so warm and eager right now. Trust fund kids didn’t make it in this circle by being naive. Even the dumbest among them had more savvy than your average person.

“And what if those same girls, who you’re always hanging out with, ask for your help with something? Would you help or not?” Freya raised her brow, teasing him on purpose.
“Depends. If it’s something small, sure, whatever. If it’s a big ask, just say no. They’re not dumb enough to think you’d help them fix something major,” Aiden replied matter–of–factly.
“Alright, got it. Did you finish your test paper?”
Aiden immediately perked up, his face full of pride. “Of course I did! That kind of stuff is a piece of cake!”
“Okay then, go play for a bit. I’ve got work to do,” Freya said, nudging the little guy out so she could finally focus.
