The bigger bathroom really was better than the smaller ones she’d used before. Freya sank into the bathtub, stroking her smooth skin, feeling absolutely content. Her pale, soft skin felt so silky under her fingers, she couldn’t help smiling to herself.
After thoroughly soaking and scrubbing clean, she wrapped her hair up and changed into her pajamas, planning to go out and blow–dry her hair.
But as soon as she stepped outside, she saw Louis sitting on the sofa with his laptop. He looked up when he heard her, and they both froze for a second.
Back when they were living outside, Freya always went straight back to the bedroom after a shower. It wasn’t until they became a couple that she started lingering a bit more. But somehow, being in this new house made things feel… different.
She tugged awkwardly at her pajamas. From Louis’s perspective, Freya, fresh from the shower, looked soft and pink, as if she still carried the warmth of the water on her. There was a dreamy glow about her, and with that dazed expression on her face, fair skin, and red lips, she looked adorable beyond words.
He got up, walked over, and gently pulled her over to sit on the sofa. Freya blinked at him, dazed, as he reached for the hairdryer from the shelf nearby, plugged it in, and got ready to blow–dry her hair.
“Want to towel it a bit more first?” Louis asked uncertainly.
“I already did. Just half–dry is fine,” Freya answered, sitting obediently still and waiting for the big boss to blow–dry her hair.
Louis adjusted the settings, then gently took off her hair tie and began to dry her hair section by section.
Freya could feel his fingers gently combing through her hair, and the warm air brushing past her scalp made her so comfortable she nearly dozed off.
She didn’t know how long it had been when the sound of the hairdryer finally stopped. She jerked awake and realized she’d been curled up in Louis’s arms the whole time. It must have been tough for him, blow–drying her hair while holding her like that.
“Aren’t your arms tired?” she asked.
“No.” Louis set the hairdryer down on the table, wrapped his arms around her, and gave her a

kiss on the forehead. He sighed silently. With the girl he loved right in his arms, he really didn’t know how much longer he could keep holding back.
“Go take your shower,” Freya said, wanting to dive under the covers while he was in the bathroom.
“Alright. You go ahead and sleep.” He gave her another kiss before letting go and grabbing his pajamas to shower.
Freya tidied up the things on the table, shut down her laptop, then pulled out a thinner pajama set and slipped it on under the covers. Once she was dressed, she spread out the blanket and grabbed her phone to scroll through.
Louis came out of the bathroom pretty quickly. Freya paused her scrolling when she heard him, listening intently to what he was doing.
He blow–dried his hair, drank some water, opened and closed the wardrobe, then walked over to the sofa.
When he still didn’t come to bed, Freya couldn’t help peeking over her blanket–and sure enough, there he was, lying on the sofa.
So that’s what he got from the wardrobe earlier—a blanket. She suddenly remembered Louis had mentioned sleeping on the sofa earlier.
The sofa in the room wasn’t small. It could easily fit someone as tall as Louis. But still, a sofa would never be as comfortable as a bed.
Besides, this was Louis’s house. Everything inside it had been bought by him. Yet here he was, letting her sleep in the bed while he took the sofa.
Freya felt a sudden pang of guilt. Without thinking too much, she sat up with her blanket in her arms.
“You shouldn’t sleep on the sofa. Come to bed. This bed’s huge–it’s more than enough for the two of us.”
Louis, who had been quietly waiting for her to speak up, fought back a smile. “Aren’t you worried I might toss and turn in my sleep?”
“It’s fine. The bed’s so big, even if you roll around, there’s plenty of space,” she said hon
Louis didn’t push it. He quickly folded the blanket on the sofa, walked over to the other side of the bed, lifted the covers, and got in.

In all her twenty–plus years, this was her first time sharing a bed with a man. Freya was so nervous, her breathing was completely off.
Louis seemed to sense her tension. He suddenly reached over and patted her. “Relax. I won’t do anything. Just go to sleep.”
“Yeah… I know. I’m just gonna scroll a bit before I sleep,” Freya mumbled, startled by his sudden touch but managing to hold it together. She buried herself in her phone, pretending
not to care.
“It’s not good for your eyes to stare at your phone in bed,” Louis reminded her.
“Yeah, I know… But I still wanna look,” she muttered, doing her best to ignore the pressure having him lying right next to her and trying to distract herself.
