It didn’t exactly feel like some seedy den of sin, but something about the place felt weird- familiar, yet off
“Ahem… so, this is something we designed,” John explained, clearing his throat. “It’s called the Pleasure street–kind of like a fast–track brothel. Did you not notice the names on the buildings up there?”
Freya looked up. Yep, the names were definitely direct.
“Wait a second. You guys actually put a brothel in the game? How did this pass review? Aren’t you worried the whole game will get shut down? The authorities might come after you for this. That’s way too much!”
Just the thought of people coming into the game to mess around for fun made Freya deeply uncomfortable. She knew Louis wouldn’t ever do something like that, but still–it bothered
her.
“No no no, you’ve got it wrong. We’d never actually make that kind of content,” Micky said quickly. “We’re classy people here. We’d never cross a moral line like that. You’ll see when you go
inside–it’s all just little games, music, chess, that sort of thing.”
“Exactly. We’re all decent people,” John added.
Freya followed them with some skepticism and chose a building called Red Sleeves Pavilion.
If nothing else, the decor was on point. She didn’t see any madams trying to lure guests in or anything sleazy. There was incense burning, and the scent was actually quite pleasant.
The women lounging around all looked very proper–some were playing the zither, others were reading. None of them looked remotely scandalous.
“Please, this way, miss. The front hall is drafty–you wouldn’t want to catch a chill,” said a well–mannered attendant, approaching them in the lobby. He wasn’t overly enthusiastic, but not cold either–just right.
“Mm.” Freya nodded and stepped forward–only to trip and fall flat on the ground.
At the same time, Kendrick and Baylon–who had just logged in–saw a system–wide
ment flash across the screen:
“Congratulations to player Freya for triggering the game’s first Brothel Encounter.”

Kendrick and Baylon stood frozen, completely ned. Did they just read that right?
“Uh… wasn’t that Freya’s name?” Kendrick asked hesitantly.
Baylon didn’t waste time–he opened his friends list and confirmed, “Yeah, that’s her. She’s online. Current location: Red Light District.”
Kendrick nearly jumped out of his chair. “No way! Freya’s in a brothel? Hold on—what event is the Red Light District? I’ve never even heard of that area. And when did they add brothels to this game?”
Baylon rolled his eyes. “You asking me? What, do I look like one of the devs?”
“Does Louis know she’s in there? I’ve heard that ancient brothels didn’t just have women- they had pretty boys too. Man, I guess people really aren’t always what they seem.” Kendrick gritted his teeth and stomped his foot. “Forget it–we have to go check it out. If she thinks
what happens in the game doesn’t count and decides to mess around, we need to step in before she gets Louis into trouble.”
“Use your head.” Baylon snapped. “You think this game could’ve passed review if it actually had anything inappropriate? And come on, you think Freya’s the type to just lose her mind in–game? What’s she even got to gain from that? Don’t forget–Louis is the one who built this game.
“Okay yeah, fine, that makes sense–but don’t forget, Freya has done dumb things before. What if she slips up again? We’re the only ones who can protect Louis’s dignity.”
That hit Baylon like a lightning bolt. Oh crap… he’s kinda got a point. Still, he didn’t want to give Kendrick the satisfaction.
“Louis isn’t as clueless as you think. But fine, if you’re so worried, let’s go see for ourselves. Might as well see what this brothel content actually looks like.”
And with that, they sent Freya a team invite.
Meanwhile, Freya blinked back to consciousness after her fall. The scene around her hadn’t changed, but the people had–John and Micky were gone. A pop–up window told her she had one hour of “encounter time.”
Welp. No need to guess–she’d clearly triggered a special event.
