“First, you’re not that kind of person. But even if you were, it’s better to want something in a marriage than nothing at all. Desires create stability.
Freya considered this novel perspective. “That actually makes sense. Though honestly, I don’t want anything–I just like you.”
Louis stiffened at her casual confession.
Freya rarely voiced her feelings so plainly. Hearing her say “like” so effortlessly struck me deeply, the simplicity making it feel all the more genuine.
“I like you too,” Louis murmured, pulling her into an embrace. “That’s enough. Whatever you want, I’ll give you.”
Being with Louis felt like coming home, Freya realized.
After a lavish lunch, she accompanied him to another company before returning home that evening.
“Want to exercise together?” Louis asked around 8 PM.
“Now?” Freya checked her watch.
“Perfect time.”
“Alright.” She saved her documents and followed him to their home gym.
In truth, it was mostly Louis putting in the work while Freya just spectating. She wasn’t one for evening workouts, but he maintained rigorous standards–every movement executed with perfect form. His ordinarily concealed physique now revealed well–defined muscles. through his thin tank top.
The combination of Louis’s striking features and his toned body was almost unfairly attractive. Freya found herself deliberately avoiding direct glances, especially when his athletic vest left little to the imagination.
Then, watching him perform push–ups with military precision, she suddenly recalled those romantic novel tropes where the male lead exercises with his partner on his back.

Noticing her stare, Louis stood. “What?”
Unbeknownst to Freya, her natural fox–like eyes–alluring yet innocent–created a
devastating combination. When she gazed at someone, blinking those captivating eyes, the effect proved utterly disarming. People found themselves instinctively drawn to her, eager to fulfill her unspoken desires.
She blinked. “N–nothing.”
Louis came straight forward to her, cupped her face and kissed her. “Tell me.”
Maybe it was his tenderness or the kiss that loosened her tongue, but she confessed her thoughts.
“Let’s try this,” Louis said, completely unfazed by the intimate position, leading Freya to the pull–up bar and gesturing for her to climb onto his back.
“I–I’m too heavy,” Freya hesitated. “In TV shows, they always have wires holding the actress up. The actors aren’t actually supporting their weight.”
“Just try,” Louis bent slightly, encouraging her.
Freya still wavered. “Are you sure you can handle this?”
Louis paused. “Has no one ever told you not to ask a man if he can handle something?”
The unintended innuendo made Freya blush furiously. Without another word, she obediently wrapped her arms around his shoulders.
As Louis straightened up with her weight, Freya could feel the solid muscles beneath her. To her amazement, he executed over twenty perfect pull–ups without breaking form.
“Wow, Louis, you’re amazing!” Freya breathed in awe, her warm breath tickling his ear.
Louis nearly lost his rhythm, stopping with an amused sigh. “Want to try push–ups now?” More confident this time, Freya nodded eagerly. “Yes!”
True to form, Louis performed flawless push–ups even with Freya seated on his back, his and controlled without the slightest tremble.
