After lunch, Louis coaxed Freya into taking a nap. Once he was sure she was sound asleep, he quietly slipped out of the room. Before leaving, he pulled Marilyn aside.

Back at the office, Louis immediately called Kendrick. “Any updates? What the hell is Dean thinking? Why the hell is Dean acting out?”
Kendrick sat at his desk, glaring at his screen, frustration written all over his face. He was already fuming. His patience was gone. What Dean had done wasn’t just petty–it was a direct shot at him and Waylon. Waylon was already working on a way to hit back, but Kendrick still needed to update Louis.
“Dean’s being Dean,” he said, frustrated. “You know how he is–impulsive, insecure, and constantly trying to prove something. Ever since your VR project blew up and I got back into real work, his dad’s been on his case, comparing him to us nonstop. He was planning to launch his own game to win back some respect, but you beat him to it–and crushed him. His ego’s wrecked, so now he’s lashing out.” Kendrick repeated what Waylon had filled him in on, shaking his head as he spoke. “And of course, he went after Freya. Because it’s easier to throw punches at someone close to you. Still taking it out on Freya? That’s low–even for him. It’s pathetic. His dad was right–he’s not built for this.” He leaned back with a sigh. “Problem is, Dean’s friends are the ones managing the trending topics on Twitter. If we start buying hashtags or forcing a trending topic, it’ll just make us look desperate. So Waylon’s going for a different approach–he’s planning to hit their backend, mess with the numbers, and take control of the narrative. No more sitting around waiting for them to make the next move.”
Louis tapped his fingers on the desk, thinking. “Is he still close with Sebastian Wells?”
Kendrick shrugged. “I don’t know how close they are, but they’re definitely friendly. Word is, the Wells kid had a thing for Dean’s sister for a while–didn’t go anywhere, but he still did Dean a few favors. I saw them together once,” Kendrick added. “Seemed pretty close.”

others. Just because Isaiah favors his youngest doesn’t mean the whole family does. If Sebastian’s really that lovesick and naive, good. Let’s see if his own family starts turning on him.” His voice was calm but cold. Then he added, “And keep an eye on Waylon. He’s been distracted lately. If he drops the ball, you step in. It’s better to put in a little extra effort now. than deal with a mess later.”
Kendrick winced but nodded. “Alright, alright, I got it. I’ll talk to Waylon. Don’t worry- anyone who came after Freya is going to pay for it.”
Louis wasn’t always this ruthless. Usually, as long as people didn’t cross a line, he’d let them go on their way–sometimes even giving them a second chance. Said it was better to see how someone handles failure–if they came back strong, so be it.
But now that someone had come after Freya, Louis wasn’t holding back. He was ready to cut off Sebastian’s entire source of influence–and he wasn’t stopping there. He wanted the rest of the Wells family to turn on him too. Brutal. Hopefully, Sebastian had the sense to back off, because once Louis lost his patience, most people couldn’t handle the fallout:
