“Let everyone at the office know–they’re getting off early today to go home and watch Thousand Lives.” Louis sat behind his desk, calling Derek in to give the order. Then he added pointedly, “No voluntary overtime either.”
Freya, sitting beside him typing on her laptop, looked up, a little flustered.
“Isn’t that a bit much? You’re making it sound mandatory. Where’s your cold, tyrant CEO image now? You’re dragging your standards down.”
“Don’t worry. They’re still getting paid. I’m giving them time off to go home and watch a drama. They’ll only thank you for it,” Louis said, completely unbothered. “Besides, other companies are always forcing dumb things on their employees. I’m just making one reasonable request. Totally fair.”
Derek had gotten used to watching Louis drop his icy persona around Freya. He tried not to laugh as he backed Louis up with an exaggeratedly serious tone.
“He’s right. People will be grateful, not annoyed. Watching a show beats overtime any day. I mean, other companies are always forcing corporate brainwashing or those ridiculous ‘team–building exercises. Compared to that, this is a dream.”
And it really was. Compared to those companies that pushed toxic ‘wolf culture‘ and constant slogans and voting games, theirs was pure bliss. One little favor from the boss, and that was it? Honestly, it was a gift.
“Uh… alright then. Thank you, everyone,” Freya said sheepishly.
The employees who received the announcement were ecstatic. Getting paid to go home and watch a show? No vacation time deducted? On top of that, the boss even handed out snack money? This was the peak of workplace happiness.
The company chat exploded.
“Oh my god, Mr. Graham is actually letting us go home to watch a drama–and paying us for it?! If I tell people, no one’s gonna believe me. Our company is a literal fairyland. I’m posting this on my socials ASAP!”
“I was just sad a few days ago that I didn’t have time for my kid. Today I picked them up early to watch Thousand Lives together! Mr. Graham better keep up this doting husband energy. I’m Team Mrs. Graham forever!”
“I’m losing my mind! I’ve been waiting for this drama forever. Our lady boss plays my favorite character. She’s gorgeous and generous! And now our CEO’s giving us paid time off to support her. What did I do to deserve this blessing?!”
“Shipping Mr. Graham x Biggie so hard right now! What’s better than finding out your fave actress is also your boss’s wife? I hope she adapts tons of scripts so we can keep getting days off!”
“Don’t forget to boost the show on Twitter! No matter how it does, we’re in it till the end. Recommend it to everyone you know–friends, family, your neighbor’s cat–whatever it takes to repay Mr. Graham’s generosity!”

worried about missing the premiere, but now they were being paid to watch. It only strengthened their loyalty to her.
As the original author and someone who acted in the show, Freya naturally wanted to watch the premiere. What she didn’t expect was Louis to take her somewhere special to do it.
“Wait a minute–where are we even going?” she asked as he parked the car.
“To watch your show.” Louis took her hand and led her into the building.
They soon arrived at a large room on the top floor. Inside were Baylon, Kendrick, Waylon, and Quinton.
Freya blinked. “Wait–why are you all here?”
“Hey, Freya!” Kendrick greeted them first. “Louis said we were celebrating the launch of your career, so of course we came.”
He had originally suggested bringing a nice bottle of wine to toast the occasion… until Louis gave him a death glare that shut that idea down fast.
Freya was here. That meant no alcohol. These past few days, Louis had been acting completely bewitched -shamelessly doting on her in ways that left Kendrick speechless. At this point, he was ready to give up on relationships altogether if that’s what love turned men into.
“That’s a bit much… but thank you, all of you,” Freya said happily, bouncing over–only to be immediately pulled back into the seat beside Louis.
Quinton handed her a neatly wrapped gift box. “Congrats on your first big step. Here’s hoping it breaks ratings records.”
The wrapping was beautiful. Freya accepted it with a glowing smile. “Thank you.”
Even Waylon looked cheerful today, surprisingly upbeat as he passed her a larger box.
“Congrats, Freya. This is for you. I told everyone to help bump the ratings today–wishing you a big premiere!”
Freya couldn’t stop smiling. Surrounded by people who cared, celebrated, and su right by her side–this premiere was already perfect.
