Chapter 3
Olivia’s cheeks burned. “What are you talking about? I meant your muscles.”
Julian smirked subtly, “So did I. The wording’s different, but technically, my manhood’s a muscle too. And I’m guessing you like that one just as
much
Olivia was momentarily speechless. Before she could respond, Julian kissed her.
He started off soft and light, and only deepened the kiss when he saw that Olivia wasn’t resisting and was even responding a little.
They were both in their prime, and a kiss was never going to be enough. In no time, the living room was filled with the heat of desire.
But then a sudden ringtone cut through the moment, pulling Olivia back a little. She was about to reject the call, but when she saw “Hubby” on the screen, she snapped back to her senses. “Don’t move. I need to take this.”
Dylan never called her unless something was up. If he was reaching out now, it had to be for a reason.
Julian caught a glimpse of the caller ID “Hubby” and his whole demeanor turned cold. “You’re married?”
Olivia nudged him with her foot. “We’ll talk about that later. Let me answer this first.”
Dylan’s annoyed voice came through the phone. “Where the hell are you? Why aren’t you home?”
Olivia said, “Don’t you always want to keep your distance from me? You should be happy I’m not around.”
Dylan let out a cold laugh. “You think I’m calling because I miss you? Stop dreaming. If it weren’t for my grandfather, I wouldn’t give a damn about you.
“Did you forget today’s the day we’re supposed to go to Wilson Manor to visit my grandfather?”
Only then did Olivia remember that it was Friday. It was time to visit Morgan.
She and Dylan usually stayed in their own place, but every Friday night they were expected to return to Wilson Manor and stay until Sunday afternoon.
Olivia said, “I’m in the middle of something right now. You go ahead. I’ll drive to Wilson Manor later myself. I’ll explain everything to Morgan.”
Something unexpected happened just then, and Olivia’s voice changed slightly at the end.
Dylan questioned, sounding suspicious, “What are you doing? Why do you sound so weird?”
Olivia replied calmly. “Trying to make a baby.”
Dylan sneered, “You think saying stuff like that will make me jealous? Stop playing games to get my attention. I don’t care, and I’m not falling for it.
“Don’t think I’ve never watched prank shows. What are you doing, taking my call while standing on one of those vibration plates?”
Olivia remarked, “You’d be perfect for one of those adult films where the husband sleeps through his wife cheating from beginning to end.”
Dylan snapped, “You-”
Olivia didn’t feel like hearing another word from him and ended the call.
She was about to question Julian when he grabbed her chin first and demanded, “Explain what’s going on with your husband. If you’re married, there’s no point continuing this. I’m not interested in being some kind of experiment between you and your husband.”
Olivia replied, “I’m married, but I’m single in every way that matters.”
Julian looked utterly speechless. “Gravellian must really be a deep and complex language. Guess you secretly evolved and made up that term just
for me.”
Olivia couldn’t be bothered to react to his teasing. “Relax. There’s not going to be some messy cheating confrontation. My husband and I signed a divorce agreement the day we got married. He even encourages me to see other men.
“If I don’t, he gets more anxious than I do, like he’s scared I might actually catch feelings for him. You heard the call just now. I’m not afraid of him finding out I’m seeing someone else.
“He’s got a woman on the side too. If he dares come after you, I’ll take you with me to go after his mistress for revenge. I’ll make sure you don’t get
the short end of it.”
Julian raised an eyebrow and finally stopped making a fuss about her being married. He leaned in and kissed her.

Olivia turned her head to avoid his lips and gave him a gentle push. “Cut it out. Let’s wrap this up. I’ve got a family dinner to get to.”
They wrapped things up quickly. Olivia rinsed off in the bathroom, then got in her car and headed straight for Wilson Manor.
Dylan was waiting for her at the gate. Olivia got out of the car, handed the keys to a security guard, and walked side by side with Dylan toward the house.
Dylan glanced at Olivia’s steady stride and let out a sneer, thinking, ‘She said she was out with a man last night and just now too. That lie fell apart pretty quickly.
Olivia had no idea what he was imagining, but when she suddenly heard that mocking laugh, she felt like something was seriously wrong with him and quietly put some distance between them.
Inside Wilson Manor, Ellen Wilson was standing there with a stern face, watching the servants set the table.
Dylan visibly tensed up and said politely, “Mom, we’re back.”
Olivia gave a half–hearted greeting as well. “Hi, Ellen.” Then she stood there expressionless.
Ellen shot her a sharp look. “What’s with the long face? Who are you trying to impress?”
Olivia replied calmly, “Don’t you have the same face on? I’m just copying you.”
Ellen let out a cold laugh. “My husband died. Is yours dead too?”
Olivia was instantly speechless. Her hot–tempered mother–in–law acted like the world owed her something, launching into full–range attacks without discrimination–even her own son wasn’t spared.
“Watch your mouth, Ollie’s husband is Dylie. Are you cursing your own son now?” Morgan’s aged voice suddenly came from upstairs. He was coming down with the help of the butler.
Ellen glanced at Morgan and said sarcastically, “It’s not like you’ve only got one grandson. So what if I pick one to curse? Oh, right, I forgot. The other one’s already dead, along with your son and his mistress.
“You’re lucky, huh? You still got a grandson while you’re alive, and when you die and go to hell, there’s another waiting for you. Isn’t that comforting? Alive or dead, you’ve always got a grandson.”
Morgan’s lips trembled violently. He couldn’t get a word out.
Olivia looked over at him and felt a bit sorry. He was old, yet he still got scolded like that. But she could also understand Ellen’s anger. The Wilson family did owe her a lot.
