I was training on the pack grounds, my movements swift and precise as I practiced my combat skills.
I had been at it for hours, and I was starting to feel the strain, but I refused to give up.
As I took a short break, I overheard some of the pack members talking about me. “She’s doing well,” one of them said. “I think she might be a good addition to the pack after all.”
Another pack member nodded in agreement. “I heard she’s been helping Alpha Theo with the mysterious attacks. She’s got special abilities or something.”
A third pack member whispered, “I think we might have misjudged her. She’s not just some weak little human.“N
I felt a surge of pride at their words, but I didn’t let it go to my head. I knew I still had a lot to prove.
Just then, Theo walked onto the training grounds, a smile on his face. “Oh, maybe we should train together,” he said, his eyes glinting with amusement. “I’ve got a few things to teach you.”
I raised an eyebrow, but I nodded. “Fine.“N
Theo began to teach me some advanced combat moves, showing me how to use my agility and quick reflexes to my advantage.
We practiced for hours, our movements swift and precise as we sparred.)
At one point, he pinned me to the ground, his body pressed against mine. I was panting, my heart racing with exertion.
But just as I was starting to feel like I was getting the hang of things, a dominant female pack member named Ava appeared on the
scene.
“Excuse me, Alpha,” she said, her voice dripping with malice. “I think Bella and I should fight. I wanna test her skills.”
Theo’s eyes narrowed, and he stepped forward, his body blocking mine. “I don’t think that’s necessary, Ava.“}
But I stood up, my heart pounding with anticipation. “No, I’m ready to fight with her. I’ve been training enough, and I’m ready now.“N
Theo’s eyes locked onto mine, and I could sense his hesitation. But then he nodded. “Fine. The day of the fight is settled, then. Let’s it tomorrow.“>
The pack members began to murmur and whisper to each other, their excitement clear. Ava smiled, her eyes glinting with malice. What was her deal with me anyway?
“I’m going to enjoy this,” she said with a smirk.
I smiled back at her, not letting her deter me. Bring it on, I thought.
As I was getting ready to head out to the pack’s training grounds, Dax walked into my room, a wide smile on his face.}]
“Hey, little sis is all grown up,” he said, chuckling.
I rolled my eyes, laughing. “I’m not little, for goodness sake. I’m twenty–eight years old.“}
Dax shrugged. “Even if you’re forty–two, you’re still my baby sis.”
Giggling, I shook my head and then paused. “You’re okay with this, right? Me and Theo…being together?“}
Dax’s expression turned serious, but then he nodded. “Theo’s my best friend, and he’s supposed to be off–limits. But why would I put asunder what the moon goddess has joined together?“}]
He sighed deeply, his eyes filled with warmth. “I’ve been watching you two for weeks now, and I’ve seen that spark you used to have before you married Brad come back. And I know Theo’s responsible.”
He smiled, a hint of amusement in his voice. “I’ve caught Theo a lot of times, and I see the way he melts anytime you’re around. He’s the strong, big, bad Alpha who puts out a hard exterior, but I see the way he looks at you. Mate or not, I know my best friend is in love.”
My eyes began to well up with tears as I walked over to Dax and hugged him tightly. “So I have your blessings, right?”
Dax arms tightened around me even more. “Of course, little sis.”
I pulled back, smiling up at him. “Good, because I think I’m falling hard for Theo. And I didn’t think it was possible after loving Brad all these years.“}
Dax’s expression turned serious, but then he smiled. “There’s always room in your heart for someone better.”
Later that day, I arrived at the pack’s training grounds, my heart pounding with anticipation. Theo was watching expectantly, his eyes on me throughout.
As I walked over to him, he leaned in to whisper, “You can do this, Bella. I’m rooting for you.”
That got me geared up so I smiled, feeling a surge of confidence. “Thanks.“}
Ava, my opponent, was already waiting for me, her eyes malicious like a witch.
The pack members were gathered around us, their faces eager with excitement.}
The fight began, and Ava came at me with a snarl, her claws swiping at me.”
I dodged and weaved, my movements fast and precise as I countered her attacks.
But Ava was no pushover, and she managed to land a few blows, sending me crashing to the ground.
I gritted my teeth, refusing to give up.
I scrambled to my feet, my eyes locked onto Ava’s. The fight was intense, with both of us exchanging blows and neither gaining the upper hand.
But then, something inside me snapped. I remembered all the times Brad had hurt me, all the times he had made me feel worthless.

I channeled all that anger and hurt into my movements, my claws swiping at Ava with precision and deadliness. She stumbled back, her eyes widening in surprise.
And then, with one final blow, I sent her crashing to the ground.”
The pack erupted into cheers and applause, their voices deafening.”
I stood tall, my chest heaving with exertion, as Theo ran over to me.”
He swept me up in his arms, spinning me around in excitement. I giggled, feeling elated.”
As he set me down, the pack members began to chant, “Champion! Champion!“}
I grinned, feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment. I had done it. I had proven myself.”
And as I looked over at Theo, I knew that I had found my true mate, my true champion.
