The full moon rose high in the sky, an unusual glow over the landscape.
I stood alongside Theo and his pack, our eyes scanning the horizon for any sign of the Slither brook coven.
We had been expecting this attack, and we were ready. The coven, led by the power–hungry and ruthless leader, Elara, had been seeking to overthrow Theo’s pack for months.
As the coven emerged from the shadows, their eyes blazing with malevolent intent, we sprang into action.
I used my abilities, summoning the elements to aid me in the battle.
The wind howled, the earth shook, and the fire raged as we clashed with the coven.
Theo fought with so much skill, taking down opponent after opponent.
I fought alongside him, our movements fluid and synchronized.
We were a well–oiled machine, working together to take down the coven.
But Elara was a crazy opponent, and she proved to be a challenge even for Theo.
The two of them engaged in a fierce battle, their movements lightning–fast.
I watched in awe as Theo took down Elara, his strength and power overwhelming her.
But as he stood victorious, I saw that he was hurt in his arm, his chest heaving with exertion.
“Don’t worry, I’ll heal soon,” he said, his eyes locking onto mine.
But I was worried. I could see the pain etched on his face, and I knew that he needed to rest.
Some of his pack members were injured, and Theo said that he had to see that they were taken to the pack doctors. “You should go
and rest,” he said, his eyes soft with concern.
Dax, who had been fighting alongside us, nodded in agreement. “I’ll drive my sister home,” he said, slapping Theo on the shoulder. ay safe, bro.“}
Theo nodded, his eyes directly on mine. “Likewise.“}
As Dax and I walked home, I felt happy it was all over. I wished Theo escaped unscathed.
As we reached home, I saw Brad waiting for us, his eyes fixed on me with an unnerving intensity.
Dax raised an eyebrow, looking irritated on seeing him. “This ex of yours doesn’t know when to stop, right?”
I sighed, feeling headaches forming from frustration. “I’m sick and tired.”
Brad looked sympathetic, but I knew better. “I’m not here to make trouble,” he said. “I just wanted to talk.”
I hesitated for a moment, but then I nodded. “Okay, this is your last chance. After I speak to you this one last time, you better not show up ever again. Deal?”
Brad nodded, saying it was not fair but he would take it.”
I turned to Dax, who was watching us with a wary expression. “I’m okay, Dax. I’ll join you later.“}
Dax looked reluctant, but he nodded. “Are you sure you wanna stay here with someone like him.?“}
I nodded, but Dax still looked unconvinced. He glared at Brad before turning and walking away.
As we stood outside in the empty streets, Brad turned to me, his eyes searching. “Do I not really have a chance with you?” he asked, his voice low.
I sighed, feeling exhausted again. “I do not know how many times I gotta say one thing. I have a new mate, Brad. Theo is my mate, and you should focus on Lydia. Is that too hard to ask?“}
As Brad and I were still talking, he seemed like he was about to go down on his knees and beg.
But before he could do anything, a speeding car came out of nowhere, heading straight for us.
Brad reacted quickly, pushing me out of the way and shielding me with his body.
I felt a jolt of fear as I watched in horror, unable to move.
The car hit Brad with a loud thud, throwing him violently to the floor. I screamed as the car sped away, leaving Brad lying there, badly injured.”
I rushed over to him, my heart racing with fear.
He was about to pass out, his legs badly fractured and bleeding.”
I panicked, shaking uncontrollably as his blood stained my clothes.
I held him, begging him to stay with me. “Please, Brad, don’t die on me. I’ll get you to a hospital, I promise.“}
He tried to speak, but his voice was weak. I screamed for help, hoping someone would hear me.”
Luckily, Theo’s guards arrived soon, and with their help, we were able to take Brad to the hospital.
I sat by his bedside, feeling guilty that he had been hit instead of me.”
The doctor came much later and just as Brad regained consciousness. “How am I?” Brad asked, his voice weak.
The doctor smiled. “You might be temporarily paralyzed, but you’re definitely going to heal. The impact was too much, but with ample bed rest, you’ll be back on your feet in no time.”

As the doctor left, I turned to Brad, feeling a mix of emotions. “That was a crazy thing for you to do, getting in the way like that.” Brad smiled, his eyes fixed on my face. “I would do it over and over again.”
I sighed, feeling a pang of guilt. “Thank you for saving my life.”
He held my hand, his eyes clear with emotion. “I saw the plate number of the car that hit me before I passed out,” he said, his voice weak. “It was Lydia’s car. She’s still probably bitter.”
I rolled my eyes, not surprised. Only a witch like her would do something like that.
“Typical Lydia.”
I stood up, feeling like I had done my best. At least Brad was going to be okay. “I have to go,” I said, smiling weakly.
Brad begged me to stay the night at least, but I shook my head. “I have to get back home to my partner.”
As I walked out of the hospital, I couldn’t help but feel pity for him. Brad had risked his life for me, but it didn’t mean anything more than that.
It was his crazy mistress that was responsible in the first place.
When I got home, I saw Theo staring out the window, a glass in his hand. He turned to me, glancing before focusing on the drink on his glasses
“You’ve been gone for hours,” he said, his tone jealous. “Dax told me you were at the hospital with your ex.”
I was amused and tried to stifle my smile. “Well, I had to make sure he was awake and okay. He risked his life for me, after all.” Theo’s eyes found mine again and I could smell his jealousy from where I stood.
“Oh really? You should have taken care of him more.“>
I walked over to him and sat on his laps. As I wrapped my arms around him, he was clearly caught off guard.
“That’s not possible,” I said, smiling up at him. “I clearly told him I have a partner I have to come back home to.“}
And then, out of impulse, I planted a kiss on his lips.
