Gregory glanced at Anathea’s pale face. She was clearly in pain, but there wasn’t the slightest trace of concern in his expression. He just yanked her along toward the Rolls Royce.
She had no idea what he was planning, and her wrist hurt from how tight his grip was. Struggling, she shouted, “Gregory, let go of me!”
Gregory let out a cold laugh. “Why? So you can go back to making out with that cook?”
“I wasn’t!” Her voice shook as she bit her lip, furious and hurt that he’d jump to conclusions like this. “Don’t project your dirty thoughts onto me!”
“I saw it with my own eyes, and you’re still trying to deny it?” He grabbed her by the shoulders and slammed her against the car door.
Her whole back felt as though it was splitting into two, but the pain in her body was nothing compared to the ache in her heart. Gregory never trusted her.
No matter what she said, he only ever believed what he thought he saw. And now, he was throwing disgusting accusations at her like this.
“Wow, Anathea. So, this is what you’ve been up to, huh? You couldn’t make it to the parent–teacher meeting because you were out dating another man? You’ve been sneaking around behind my back after playing the part of the perfect, chaste wife in bed.”
He pressed his thumb hard against her lips. They were warm and tender, almost too inviting.
The thought that someone else had come so close to claiming what was his made his blood boil. Gregory’s eyes darkened.
All he could think about was the night before, when Anathea had acted as though being near him was unbearable. She’d refused to let him touch her, and yet, she was all smiles with another man.
He was so furious he nearly turned around and drove the car into a wall.
Anathea saw the dangerous look in his eyes and instinctively tried to escape, but Gregory shoved her harder against the cold car door, his voice low and threatening. “Trying to run? Not a chance.
“What are you even trying to-” Before she could finish, his hand clamped around her neck, and he crushed his mouth against
hers.
Anathea’s eyes flew open wide, and she caught the rage burning on his face.
She tried to fight him off, but his grip was like steel. His fingers locked around her jaw, forcing her head up.
The suffocating heat of his body overwhelmed her senses. He was everywhere, as if he was trying to brand every part of her, mark every breath she took as his and his alone. No one else was allowed to touch her.
Anathea struggled, her legs starting to give out as he held her pinned to the door. She felt like a fish on a chopping board, and Gregory was holding the knife.
His cold fingers trailed down her neck and jaw, making her entire body tremble.
She couldn’t breathe. Her knees buckled, and she began sliding down.
Gregory caught her around the waist with one arm, locking her against his chest. Her face was flushed red from lack of air. She looked like a rose in full bloom, which made something shift in his eyes.
He slid his hand down from her throat.
The collar of her shirt shifted in the cool air. Anathea’s eyes widened in panic. “W–What are you doing?”
Gregory sneered. “What do you think? Finishing what you and that chef of yours didn’t get to start.”

And even that wouldn’t be enough punishment for her.
Anathea froze. Before she could react, Gregory had already pulled open the door and pushed her down onto the car seat.
No, there was no way he…
She immediately tensed up and pushed against him in a panic. “No Stop!”
Martin and Thomas were right there!
But Gregory didn’t care. He held her down and shamelessly locked eyes with Thomas–who was trapped inside the car–as if to tell the latter that Anathea belonged to him.
Thomas froze. When he realized what Gregory was about to do, his face turned pale.
“Gregory, let her go!” he shouted in shock and fury.
Gregory ignored him and shut the car door.
