After all, Gregory had never outright denied the public’s speculations about his wife, so many had come to assume that Natalie was the future Mrs. Sinclair.

“She’s not,” Gregory cut in coldly.
Natalie froze. It was the first time Gregory had ever denied it so clearly.
There were still a few passersby around, some of whom had previously believed Natalie was Gregory’s legitimate wife.
But after Gregory denied it, their looks toward her became strange they lowered their voices to whisper among themselves.
“Wait, she’s not his wife?”
“No way. So she’s the mistress? Was the other woman his actual wife?”
“Damn, this is unbelievable! The mistress actually acted more arrogant than the real wife.”
“She’s so shameless. And that guy’s trash too, letting his mistress bully his actual wife.”
Even though the whispers were quiet, Natalie caught every word. Her face darkened, and she looked at Gregory with a hint of grievance.
. But Gregory didn’t spare her a single glance. As he listened to the murmurs of the passersby, his expression barely shifted. He looked far more composed than when he’d heard Anathea being insulted.
As Dominic glanced at Natalie, a thoughtful look briefly crossed his eyes. He quickly changed the topic. “Well, since we’ve run into each other like this, how about I treat you to dinner, Mr. Sinclair?”
As soon as Natalie heard Dominic mention leaving with Gregory, she quickly spoke up to try and keep him there. “Greg-” “Sure,” Gregory answered without hesitation. With that, he walked away, leaving Natalie behind.
Dominic followed Gregory out.
“Greg!” Natalie called out, her voice tinged with frustration. But Gregory didn’t even pause, as if he hadn’t heard a thing. All she could do was watch as he walked farther and farther away until he finally disappeared around the corner. Her hand, resting on her lap, slowly curled into a tight fist.
She cursed in her mind. Dominic was taking Hannah’s side, and Hannah was Anathea’s friend. Natalie was convinced they were driving a wedge between her and Gregory on purpose.
“Anathea, it’s all because of you!” Natalie’s eyes darkened with rage. She clenched her teeth, but the pain from the wound on her face flared, making her wince sharply.
The thought of possibly being left with a scar on her face made her blood boil. She slammed her hand down hard on the armrest of her wheelchair.
She swore silently that she would make Anathea pay for this.
Just then, her phone rang. It was Xander.
Natalie paused for a moment. He was probably calling to ask why she hadn’t come back yet. After all, she’d gone out of he to get him to move in with her, hoping it would drive a wedge between him and Anathea.

With Hannah’s support, Anathea made her way into the VIP ward the pain in her abdomen had dulled, but it was quickly replaced by a churning in her stomach.
