Chapter 145
Eleanor let out a sneer. “So it’s true. You’re actually protecting her how. Have you forgotten the cheap tricks she used to marry you in the first place? And now you’re feeling sorry for her? Has your scar faded with time?”
“I’m just stating the facts,” Gregory said coldly as he looked at her “You took the surveillance footage from the consultation room, didn’t you?”
Eleanor was stunned for a moment. A flicker of guilt flashed through her eyes. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Really?” Gregory could already see the answer on her face, but he chose not to call her out on it.
He knew that if Eleanor had taken the footage, it meant what was on it wasn’t in their favor, which in turn meant Anathea probably hadn’t attacked Natalie without reason. In fact, it might’ve even been self–defense.
That was why Eleanor had rushed to have Anathea arrested before anyone could find out. With no evidence, she thought she could pressure Anathea into a confession.
Gregory didn’t lay all that out. But he warned, “From now on, stay out of my personal business, Mom.”
“Oh, so you still do know I’m your mom?” Eleanor’s voice sharpened. “Then you should listen to me! Divorce Anathea and marry.Nat-”
“I could also stop calling you that, Mrs. Sinclair,” Gregory cut her off mid–sentence. His expression darkened, and his voice turned dangerous. “If you want to keep that title, I’d suggest you don’t push me.”
Inside the luxurious interior of the Rolls–Royce, all their so–called dignity was trampled underfoot.
It was especially so for Eleanor. After hearing Gregory’s words, she clenched her fists. Her gaze was fixed on him with a mix of ̧diffidence and resentment.
She’d never imagined that Gregory would say something like that to her one day. He never used to be like this.
Gregory’s expression remained equally cold. His deep eyes exuded a chilling, dangerous warning.
Heavy silence fell between them.
After a long moment, Eleanor finally muttered, “Fine. I get it.”
Only then did the ice in Gregory’s expression thaw a little. He ordered Dexter, “Drive. Take her home.”
When they reached the Sinclair residence, Eleanor shot Gregory a glare. As she stepped out, she slammed the door hard behind her to vent her frustration.
‘Gregory didn’t even flinch. “Back to Sinclair Villa.”
The car drove smoothly along the road. The scenery outside shifted with each passing moment.
“Mr. Sinclair, Sinclair Group’s annual review meeting is next week. Here’s the report from each department.” Martin handed the documents to Gregory and briefly outlined the agenda for the meeting.
Gregory skimmed the documents on the tablet, then tossed it aside with a frustrated sigh and rubbed the corner of his tired eyes.
“Are you feeling alright, Mr. Sinclair?” Martin asked with concern. “Should I call the family doctor for a quick checkup?”
“I’m fine.” Gregory lowered his hand. “Keep going.”
“Okay.”
Outside, the last sliver of daylight sank below the horizon. Night had arrived.
“That’s everything. If you’d like to make any changes, I’ll have the team revise it right away.” Martin closed the folde

“No. Go ahead with this version.” Gregory leaned back in his seat. He closed his eyes to rest.

“Oh, one more thing…” Martin hesitated as he watched Gregory’s face carefully. “Jenny called earlier. She said that Mrs. Sinclair’s suitcase is missing”
Only then did Gregory open his eyes. He narrowed them slightly as the wheels turned in his head.
Martin quickly continued, “She’s probably packed up and gone to the hospital to stay with Mrs. Jacobson. Since she just had surgery, it makes sense that Mrs. Sinclair would want to be there for her.”
Seeing that Gregory’s expression eased just a little, Martin continued, “But taking care of Mrs. Jacobson alone might be quite difficult. Would you like me to send someone to help her out?”
