Chapter 146
“No need,” Gregory replied.
He couldn’t stop thinking about the way Anathea always looked at him like he was her enemy, yet she could turn around and smile so effortlessly at other men. His brows furrowed together in rustration.
If she was so unwilling to yield to him, then why should he offer to help her?
He wanted her to come and beg him.
Gregory lifted his hand. It felt like he could still sense the warmth of Anathea’s waist from when he’d last touched her. She had such soft, delicate curves. It had been far too long since he’d felt her like that.
What he wanted was for Anathea to let go of her pride and come back to him on her own. Then, he could pull her back into his arms and claim her completely.
And more than that, he believed that as long as he didn’t give Anathea what she wanted, she wouldn’t be able to walk away. Eventually, she’d give up the fight. She’d return to being the gentle, caring wife who ironed his shirts and made his meals.
That was what Gregory told himself. He believed Anathea wouldn’t leave him so easily.
People who received love always seemed to believe they were irreplaceable.
But this time, Gregory, who was usually always right, guessed wrong–Anathea truly didn’t want Xander anymore. And she didn’t want him either.
She was done trying to warm a man’s heart that would never soften and raise a son who never felt like hers. She was ready to walk away from all of it.
She planned to leave Castenea with Fiona and leave behind this place filled with traces of the Sinclairs.
In the hospital, Anathea helped the nurses carefully transfer Fiona, now awake, out of the intensive care unit and into a private
VIP room.
“Careful.” Anathea nervously pushed the hospital bed, terrified that Fiona might bump into something.
“Relax, I’m not made of paper.” Fiona smiled. Though there were still a few tubes attached to her, she was in great spirits,
“Thea’s just worried about you, Mrs. Jacobson.” Hannah walked up to Fiona. “I was worried too!”
From outside the ward, Dominic watched silently. As he saw the usually cool Hannah act so gentle in front of Fiona, his eyes ́gradually dimmed.
Once Fiona was settled, Hannah wanted to stay the night at the hospital with Anathea. But Dominic didn’t give her the chance. He pulled her away without asking.
The black Bentley blended into the night. Its body faintly rocked in the shadows.
Hannah sat astride Dominic. Her long, dark hair fell in sleek waves down her fair back, like ink strokes on fine paper. She looked beautiful, like a living painting.
Dominic’s fingers curled under her delicate chin. His burning breath brushed against her lips, filled with an intense passion.
Moments later, Hannah slumped weakly against his chest.
He looked perfectly put–together, while she looked thoroughly disheveled. But Hannah didn’t care. Like a cat, she pressed her cheek against his to please him.
Dominic could feel that she was different tonight. He pinched her chin and looked her straight in the eyes. “What do you this time?”

They both knew that this was a transaction.
Every time Hannah offered herself or showed affection, it was with a purpose. And he would fulfill her requests as much as he could once his own desires were satisfied.
Their relationship was clean and free from any complicated emotions. It sulted both Dominic and Hannah,
“I want a duplex penthouse in downtown Syntherra,” Hannah murmured as she looked at Dominic with eyes filled with a seductive allure.
Upon hearing that, Dominic pressed his thumb against her lips and chuckled. “Ms. Cole, aren’t you asking for a bit much this time?”
Although Syntherra was slightly inferior to Castenea, its properties were still incredibly valuable. In the prime downtown area, foot. properties were priced at 500 thousand dollars per square
Moreover, Hannah wanted a duplex. That would cost at least 100 million dollars.
