Before the nurse could even finish, Gregory was already striding over to the payment counter, pressing the button for the elevator going up.
At the same time, Anathea walked to the elevators and pressed the one going down.
The elevator doors slid open, and Anathea’s nervous face was reflected in the metal doors.
Just then, she heard Gregory’s voice. Her fingers clenched tight on instinct.
“Excuse me.” His cold voice
came from the elevator on the left.
Gregory stepped inside without a glance at her. Anathea let out a shaky breath of relief and quickly got into the elevator on the right, heading straight for the hospital’s back exit.
They were on the same floor, using different elevators, passing by each other without even knowing it.
Anathea didn’t dare stop for a second. She rushed straight to the back door. The moment she stepped outside, she spotted Hannah’s car.
“Thea, hurry!”
Anathea bolted toward the car and jumped in. Hannah slammed on the gas and sped away from the hospital.
Gregory made it to the payment counter, only to find nothing. His face darkened dangerously.
“Anathea!” he shouted through gritted teeth, seething with a mix of frustration and rage he didn’t even realize he was capable of over a woman.
He was just about to order people to search the entire hospital and surrounding area–and if needed, even launch drones to sweep the skies–when his phone rang.
He almost declined the call but paused when he saw it was Holden. After a second, he picked up. “Hello, Dad.”
“Don’t call me that, you punk!” Holden’s sharp and furious voice exploded from the other end. “Look what you’ve done! You’ve made your mother off so angry!”
Gregory rubbed his tired eyes. “All I did was make my wife’s identity public. There’s nothing wrong with that.”
“I don’t care about your personal mess. But you need to get home right now! Your mother wants to see you! If you don’t, deal with the consequences yourself! You hear me?”
Before Gregory could even respond, Holden hung up.
Gregory stared at the dark screen, his eyes clouding over.
Holden had always adored Eleanor, but as for Gregory? He’d never really been treated like a son. To Holden, Gregory was just an accessory that came with Eleanor.
He was just a useful tool for the business world. The moment he lost his value, he’d be tossed aside without hesitation.
Gregory’s grip on his phone tightened.
No outsider would ever guess that behind all the glitz and glamor of the prestigious Sinclair family, it was really just a cold, blood
sucking pit.
If they treated their biological son like this, what about others?
A dark, unreadable look flashed across Gregory’s face. Loosening his fingers, he turned and strode out of the hospital.
Martin was already waiting by the entrance. As soon as he spotted Gregory, he quickly walked over. “Mr. Sinclair.”

Martin glanced behind Gregory but didn’t see Anathea anywhere.
Could he not find her?
Martin was a little surprised, but before he could say anything, Gregory was already climbing into the car.
“Go to the Sinclair residence,” Gregory said coldly.
“Yes.”
Sensing the suffocating tension coming off Gregory, Martin didn’dare say another word. He got in the front seat and quickly told Dexter where to go.
As the Rolls–Royce sped off, a black Bentley slowly pulled out of the shadows.
Dominic pushed up his glasses with one hand, clicking his tongue with a trace of regret. “What a shame. I guess it just wasn’t meant to be.”
Gregory had the right location, and everything had lined up, yet he’d still missed her.
Honestly, Dominic had to admit that Hannah reacted fast. If it weren’t for that, Gregory definitely would’ve caught Fiona today. And now, not only had he failed to catch her, but Dominic had also practically handed over a ready–made excuse for the other side to criticize him.
Sure enough, the next second, Dominic’s phone rang. It was Hannah.
He pressed his lips together. There was no escaping now. He just hadn’t expected it to come so fast.
The second he answered, Hannah’s furious voice blasted through.” Dominic, why the hell did you go back on your word?”
