By the time Gregory finished dealing with work, the sky was already starting to lighten. But he wasn’t the least bit tired.
Honestly, he hadn’t had a full night’s sleep since the day he found out Anathea had left.
He pulled out his phone, staring at a picture of Anathea. His gaze gered on her stomach, and his eyes narrowed slightly.
She had the nerve to hide a pregnancy from him and even dared to run away.
Gregory’s fingers tightened around his phone, his expression darkening.
“Mr. Sinclair, your coffee,” Martin said, setting a cup down next to him. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of the photo Gregory was staring at and sighed to himself.
Lately, Gregory had been working nonstop, constantly flying back and forth between Castenea and Syntherra. Right now, he looked completely worn out, but he still refused to rest.
It was painfully obvious that Gregory’s obsession with Anathea ran deeper than he himself realized.
“Mr. Sinclair, you’ve been at it all night. You really should get some sleep,” Martin urged gently.
Gregory didn’t respond. He rubbed the corner of his tired eyes and asked, “How’s the investigation going? Any updates from Dominic?”
Martin hesitated but answered truthfully, “Um, Mr. Lancaster reported that there was some kind of technical issue with the surrounding surveillance systems. He’s working on recovering the data and promised to give you a satisfactory update as soon as possible.”
Gregory let out a cold laugh. “Excuses.”
No wonder he hadn’t been able to find a trace of Anathea. It was almost like someone had deliberately wiped away any signs of
her.
Of course. It was Dominic’s doing.
Gregory’s grip on his coffee cup tightened. He’d expected Dominic to be two–faced, but he hadn’t thought the man would side with Anathea.
Was it because of that friend of hers?
Gregory thought back to the time at the hospital in Castenea, remembering how Dominic had stood up for Hannah.
“Who would’ve thought Mr. Lancaster would fall for some woman from the entertainment industry?” Gregory sneered, full of
disdain.
“A little while ago, Mrs. Sinclair and Mrs. Lancaster had lunch together. Mrs. Lancaster mentioned that Mr. Lancaster is already engaged and that they even sent out wedding invitations,” Martin said carefully.
Gregory didn’t say anything. He never cared much about other people’s private lives. Right now, all he cared about was finding
Anathea.
But Dominic was intentionally standing in his way–because of a woman, no less!
Gregory’s frown deepened.
He did have some influence in Syntherra, but at the end of the day, Syntherra was the Lancasters‘ territory. No matter how strong an outsider was, it was hard to beat the locals.
With Dominic purposely causing trouble, tracking down Anathea wasn’t going to be easy.
Gregory’s face darkened even more as he slammed the coffee cup onto the table. The liquid splashed everywhere.

The strong, bitter smell of coffee quickly filled the room.
Martin gasped slightly and rushed to wipe up the mess before it could ruin any important documents. But he wasn’t fast enough to save one- -an invitation for some kind of event.
Martin picked up the soaked invitation carefully. “Mr. Sinclair, please calm down. I’ll get this cleaned up right away.”
Gregory caught a glimpse of it out of the corner of his eye and suddenly said, “Wait.”
Martin froze mid–step. Before he could react, Gregory had already taken the invitation out of his hands.
In gold cursive lettering, it read “International Floristry Competition“. It was set to take place in Syntherra. Below it was a list of participants.
Gregory scanned the names and stopped at one.
There it was. The name he’d been chasing all this time.
Out of nowhere, he let out a low laugh.
Martin felt a chill run down his spine. He’d worked for Gregory for years and knew all too well that Gregory laughing like that usually meant trouble.
He hurried to change the subject. “About Mr. Lancaster-”
“Forget about him,” Gregory said casually, as if he couldn’t care less anymore.
