Chapter 190
Anathea still couldn’t even bring herself to think about what had happened at the hospital back then. Had she been even a little late, she would’ve lost Flona forever.
All of that happened because Gregory had given Natalie special privileges.
Anathea felt as if something was choking her, stuck right in her chest.
She didn’t even want to bother figuring out why he hated her so much anymore. She was done. She wasn’t going to keep living this miserable, soul–sucking life with Gregory.
“We already signed the divorce papers. What’s the point of keeping the ring?”
“How dare you bring up divorce?”
Gregory let out a furious, almost laughing mockingly as he grabbed her chin and forced her to look up at him.
“Anathea, don’t forget how you married me in the first place! Now that things aren’t going the way you wanted, you think you can just leave? You don’t even have the right for that. As long as I don’t sign the documents, we’re still legally married!”
His voice echoed harshly in the small space.
Anathea froze.
He hadn’t signed the divorce agreement?
But she’d given him the document. She’d thought they were already working through the divorce. But now, he was telling her they were still married?
For a second, Anathea had no idea how to react. She just couldn’t accept it.
So, she shoved him with everything she had.
But Gregory was like an immovable wall. Feeling her resistance and her hatred only made something inside him–something that had been building up for over a month–snap.
Without warning, he yanked open her collar.
Before Anathea could even react, he lowered his head and bit her collarbone, hard.
Anathea’s body jolted in pain, curling up in defense.
She struggled to get away, but Gregory was already gripping her chin and crashing his mouth down on hers without giving her a chance to breathe.
The taste of blood spread across her tongue instantly.
Anathea’s eyes flew wide open as she stared right into Gregory’s sharp, dangerous gaze.
He was looking at her as if she were a bird trying to fly out of a cage without his permission. And now, he was back to clip her wings.
The danger in the air had her adrenaline spiking out of control, her heart pounding against her ribs.
She didn’t know where the strength came from, but she slammed her fists against his chest. “Stop! Let me go!”
Gregory didn’t even flinch.
He pressed his thumb down hard on the fresh bite mark on her collarbone. Anathea flinched from the pain. In that split second, he pinned her down even more firmly.
“We’re still legally married. It doesn’t matter whether you like it or not.”

He’d been holding back too much over the past month.
In their six years of marriage, every time he saw Anathea looking at him, with her nose pink from crying but still trying so hard to hold it all in, he’d only wanted to push her even harder.
He had to admit he was addicted to Anathea, especially when it came to this.
Gregory loosened his grip on her chin, tracing his hand down thee of her face.
“Anathea, just be honest. Don’t tell me you don’t feel anything.”
She looked as if she was resisting, but her breathing had already become completely uneven. Her body was weak as she trembled under him. She couldn’t even hold herself up anymore.
Anathea hated this.
She hated how just a few words from him could break her down so easily.
She bit her lip hard, eyes burning.
In Gregory’s mind, she was just a tool to vent his frustrations, something to coax and sweet–talk when it suited him. However, somehow, her body still reacted anyway.
Gregory saw every little change in her, his eyes darkening.
Without a word, he reached for the strap of her dress. After more than a month apart, he couldn’t release his desire anywhere
else.
But just then, Anathea’s face went pale. She feebly pushed at him and whispered, “Gregory… it hurts…”
