Chapter 200
In the end, Dominic lost interest and ended things quickly.
“Next time, don’t even think about coming to me for help!” Dominic spat through gritted teeth before storming out and slamming the door behind him.
It wasn’t until the sound of his footsteps disappeared that Hannah slowly sat up. The strap of her dress slipped off her shoulder, revealing the red marks he’d left on her.
She didn’t care.
She grabbed her phone and called her assistant, asking the latter to send Chloe to Castenea for a while.
“What about you, Hannah?”
“Me?” Hannah wiped her lips, erasing any trace of Dominic.
“I probably won’t be landing any big projects for a while. I’m going to stay here and see how things play out.”
Hannah knew she’d pissed Dominic off. There was no doubt he would start throwing obstacles her way, probably for a long time.
Honestly, she cared more about her daughter than her career.
If she kept getting tangled up with Dominic, it was only a matter of time before someone found out about Chloe.
She didn’t know what Dominic’s fiancée was like, but she’d acted in enough dramas about rich families to know that the real thing was way scarier than anything they put on screen.
In those worlds, women fought to protect their spot. They wouldn’t hesitate to wipe out anything that threatened it.
Hannah couldn’t afford to lose Chloe, so she needed to end things with Dominic.
Her eyes were full of determination–cold and ruthless.
She didn’t have much love left to give anyone anyway. Half of it was saved for Anathea, and the other half went to Chloe.
After giving Fiona a simple excuse, Anathea said goodbye.
“Take care of yourself,” Fiona reminded her softly.
Anathea nodded. She didn’t mention anything about Adam. Fiona was still recovering and couldn’t handle any stress. Right now, the only thing Anathea could do was work with Gregory and keep acting as his wife.
She would use his resources to find the best doctors and get Adam treated, all without worrying Fiona.
Of course, that wasn’t the only reason she agreed to return to Castenea. She had her own reasons, too.
When Anathea walked out of the rehab center, there was a sleek Maybach already waiting for her at the gate.
Martin got out of the car and greeted her respectfully, “Hello, Mrs. Sinclair.”
Anathea gave a small nod and followed him toward the back seat. When Martin opened the door, Anathea paused for a second.
Gregory was inside the car.
He had his legs crossed elegantly, with one hand resting on his knee. His tailored pants sported no wrinkles. The Patek Philippe watch on his wrist caught the light with a mechanical gleam.
Wait.
Hadn’t Gregory said Martin would be the one to fetch her? Why was he here himself?

Anathea frowned slightly, but her eyes were quickly drawn to something else. There was a gash running along Gregory’s forearm, where his sleeve was rolled up.
“You’re hurt?” she asked, catching a faint metallic smell of blood in the car.
Gregory lifted his arm a little, not looking bothered at all.
“I got scratched while checking out a construction site.”
The blood had already dried. He hadn’t even bothered to get it treated and had just come straight here.
Martin quickly grabbed the first aid kit. “Mr. Sinclair, let me help you bandage it–”
“You drive,” Gregory cut him off. Then, turned to Anathea and crocked his finger at her. “You do it.”
Anathea stood still, not moving.
Seriously? He had private doctors at his beck and call, but he’d come all the way here to flash his injury at her.
“Mrs. Sinclair, don’t forget your duties,” Gregory remarked when she didn’t budge.
Pressing her lips together, Anathea took the first aid kit Martin handed over and got into the car. The second she sat down, Gregory rested his hand on her thigh.
Chapter 201
Anathea was wearing a silk dress today. The fabric was thin. When Gregory placed hits hand on it, it made her skin tingle slightly.
She shifted away a little, but Gregory pressed his hand down on her leg, keeping her from moving
“Why are you sitting so far away? You’re just putting on some medicine, or do you have something else in mind, Mrs. Sinclair?” Gregory teased with a raised brow.
“I do not!” Anathea retorted, her cheeks flushing slightly.
Gregory looked at how flustered she was, the corners of his lips twitching.
Resting his arm across her leg, he uttered, “Then, let’s get started with the bandage.”
At the same time, Martin started the car and headed in the direction of Castened.
Outside the window, the scenery kept sliding past. As they drove through a large birch forest, the trees blocked out the sunlight, making the interior of the car darker.
Most of Gregory’s face was hidden in the shadows. His features were sharp, striking, and intense.
His suit jacket had been tossed aside, and the top two buttons of his black dress shirt were undone.
His elegant appearance carried a hint of relaxation. He had a presence that could draw anyone to him. Good–looking people were dangerous.
Anathea pressed her lips together and quickly turned her head to avoid looking at him. She opened the first–aid kit and dipped some cotton in antiseptic before cleaning up the dried blood on his wound.
She accidentally touched the injury, causing Gregory to suck in a breath.
Softening her touch, Anathea calmly continued applying the medicine and bandaging the wound. At the end, she tied it in a bow. Gregory looked at the bow that didn’t match his overall demeanor and let out a light snort. “How childish.”
“Do it yourself, then,” Anathea rebuked.
“What did you say?” Gregory glanced at her.
Anathea didn’t answer. She began putting the supplies back into the kit, but Gregory reached out and shut the lid before she could finish.
Before she could react, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her closer to him.
Just then, the car took a sharp turn. Caught off guard by the momentum, Anathea fell straight into Gregory’s arms.
Her forehead bumped into his solid chest.
She didn’t have time to worry about that as she instinctively placed her hand over her lower abdomen to protect it from the impact, only to touch Gregory’s hand. He’d already placed his hand there, shielding her belly.
Anathea felt the warmth of his hand, and her lashes fluttered slightly.
After the turn, the car ride smoothed out.
Anathea came back to her senses and looked up at him. Gregory was also watching her. In that moment, as their eyes met, sl seemed to catch a fleeting softness in his gaze as his hand touched her belly.
Anathea was stunned for a second but quickly recovered and tried to move out of his arms.
But Gregory reached out and pinched her chin, kissing her lips.

His cool, crisp scent filled her nose, Anathca’s lashes trembled ever more. Out of Instinct, she wanted to push him away. But when she remembered their agreement, she slowly lowered her hand again.
It had been a long time since Gregory had felt her yield to him like is. He cradled her chin in his hand, kissing her as he looked down at her face.
Her eyes were closed, making her long lashes even more obvious. soft blush gradually spread across her pale face, even reaching the tips of her ears.
They’d been married for six years, and she still acted shy.
Then again, she was only 26 years old.
He vaguely remembered that Anathea had confessed to him through a message when she was 15.
Back then, he’d gotten numerous anonymous confessions. Anathe was the only one who’d signed her name, which was why he remembered her.
That meant Anathea had liked him since she was 15. He’d taken up her entire youth. That thought unexpectedly lifted his mood as he cupped the back of her neck, deepening the kiss.
Anathea was starting to lose her breath and patted his shoulder.
Only then did Gregory let her go, albeit somewhat reluctantly. He traced her slightly red, swollen lips with his thumb, the corners of his mouth curving in amusement.
“All these years, and you still haven’t figured out how to breathe properly?”
