“No…” Anathea shook her head and looked up at Adam with tear–filled eyes.
“Dad, you were framed, weren’t you?”
At her words, a flicker of complex emotion crossed Adam’s eyes. He lowered his head and stayed silent.
To some, it might have looked like guilt or avoidance. But Anathea clearly saw the flash of regret and helplessness in his eyes.
She didn’t need him to say anything–she understood.
At that moment, she felt a faint sense of relief because she’d always believed Adam was not a wicked man.
Adam’s reaction hadn’t crushed that belief. Instead, it was even stronger now. No matter what, she would overturn his
conviction.
What she had to do now was make sure Adam recovered, help him live in good health, and wait for the day she cleared his name and brought him home.
“Dad, don’t worry. I’m going to get you better,” Anathea uttered, wiping the tears from the corners of her eyes.
Adam nodded. He stroked Anathea’s hair lovingly, just like he used to years ago.
But his eyes were filled with sorrow for her because she was no longer the pampered little girl who relied on her father for
everything.
She’d learned to endure and carry things on her own.
She’d grown up, and the price of that growth was far too steep.
Anathea had only stayed with Adam for an hour before Martin came in.
Though she had so much more to say, she still reluctantly said goodbye to Adam.
When she came out of the hospital, she looked up at the brilliant glow in the sky. The sunlight touched her face warmly, and she
clenched her hand.
Martin walked up beside her and asked, “Mrs. Sinclair, are you going home now?”
Anathea shook her head. “Take me to Eden Studio.”
She hadn’t been there in over a month. As she stood in front of the studio, it almost felt unfamiliar.
Lena spotted Anathea and shouted excitedly, “Nat! You’re finally back!”

Anathea gave her a smile and got to the point. “Actually, I’m here to ask you about the thing we discussed. Have you thought it over?”
Anathea had previously mentioned to Evangeline that once she gained recognition through the international competition, she wanted to take the opportunity to expand their small studio into a full–fledged floral design company.
Evangeline’s expression shifted slightly. “About that…”
