A hint of surprise passed Anathea’s eyes.
To outsiders, Wesley and Olivia seemed so convincingly real. They were like a genuinely loving couple.
No one would’ve expected they’d actually been separated for years
“But neither of us has any intention of getting a divorce. The company is jointly owned by the two of us, and it was thanks to our love story that the business gained so much traction in the first place.
“We also have a son and a daughter. Our family ties run too deep either of us wants to be the first to walk away,” Olivia explained.
Anathea looked puzzled. “But if that’s the case, why live apart?”
“Because I’ve had enough of him!” Olivia’s voice was animated, as though she’d finally found someone who could understand
her.
She pulled out her phone, eager to vent to Anathea. “I’ve never seen a man with so many social media accounts. When I need to contact him, I have to send the same message to seven different accounts! It drives me insane!”
“Maybe you could just put all seven accounts into one group chat?” Anathea suggested.
However, she knew perfectly well that the reason Olivia and Wesley had separated wasn’t as simple as a bunch of social media
accounts.
“And he has another woman out there! No woman would be okay sharing her husband with someone else!” Olivia fumed.
Anathea didn’t respond. It turned out Wesley had another woman as well, just like Gregory.
But there was a big difference. At least Wesley and Olivia had once loved each other. Their love story had been passionate— legendary, even.
It had helped them build a successful company, take it public, and gain global recognition. How could that not be meaningful?
It was no wonder that even with their broken relationship, they still appeared together in the public eye as a loving couple. After all, both of them had something to gain from it.
But what about Anathea?
The only connection between her and Gregory had been her deep, unrequited love. He’d never liked her, let alone loved her.
Now that she no longer intended to love him, the only link between them was the fact that he was holding her weakness over
her head.
So, when she played along with him and put up an act, she didn’t feel an ounce of hope or happiness in her heart.
All she had was the desire to get it over with as soon as possible.
Noticing the dim look on Anathea’s face, Olivia reached out and took her hand in comfort.
“It’s okay. We’re getting the rights and benefits we deserve. That’s not a bad thing. The treatment we get as their wives is something most people can only dream of having in their lifetime.
Dream?
Anathea wouldn’t dream of having this life. Her ideal life was simply to spend her days peacefully with someone she loved.
Life as Gregory’s wife was too harsh, too heavy for her.
However, she didn’t refute or agree to Olivia’s words. She just nodded slightly.

On the other hand, Olivia thought she’d finally found someone who truly understood her and went on chattering. She told Anathea many things, including some pretty ugly things about Wesley.
Anathea was subtly amused. Now she understood why Wesley refused to divorce–Olivia knew too much. Any one of her stories could cause major damage to his company.
“Once, he was playing some thrill–seeking game with one of his mistresses. He bought a whole load of stuff but accidentally had it delivered to me instead.”
Olivia gave her a meaningful wink. “Guess what I did?”
Anathea thought about it seriously. “You threw them away?”
“Of course not!” Olivia waved a finger. “I repackaged everything and sent it back to that mistress, except…”
She leaned closer, whispering into Anathea’s ear, “I replaced their lube with super glue.”
Anathea froze.
No wonder! When she’d looked into Wesley’s background, she’d seen a report about him rushing to the hospital late at night.
Wesley, of course, hadn’t given any explanations as to why, so no one knew the details.
It turned out that was all Olivia’s doing.
