“In any case, Anathea is my wife now, and she’s the only one I’ll ever want. I will not replace her with anyone else. I’m warning you–drop whatever thoughts you’re having, or I’ll have to be rough with you,” Gregory warned.
Theo frowned in displeasure. “You really think Anathea still wants to be your wife?”
“You can ask her yourself.”
Gregory was confident that Anathea would stay by his side because of Adam. As long as he had that leverage, he had nothing to fear.
Theo clenched his fingers and raised his voice. “If she doesn’t want to be your wife anymore, I’ll take her away. I swear I will!”
Gregory didn’t care about his posturing. It was just a loser’s empty bravado. But since Theo was his cousin, he held back his temper and responded, “You won’t get the chance.”
Gregory would never give Theo that chance. Anathea belonged to him. No one else could take her away.
He wanted Anathea’s body, heart–everything.
So, right after Theo left, he immediately called Martin and told him to keep a close eye on Adam and block all visitors.
After receiving Giselle’s message, Anathea frowned slightly.
Gregory had tightened the surveillance on Adam even more.
After Giselle asked about Anathea’s recent situation with Gregory, she quickly analyzed the situation and suggested, “Maybe it’s time to change your approach with Gregory.”
“What kind of approach?”
“Soft tactics. You’ve heard of that, right?”
Anathea stood there in silence, her lips pressed together. Even after Giselle hung up the phone, she still hadn’t snapped out of it.
“What’s wrong, Nat?” Evangeline gave her a light pat on the shoulder.
Anathea finally put away her phone and shook her head. “It’s nothing.”
“You look tired. Everything’s pretty much sorted out. Why don’t you head home early? You can keep working tomorrow,” Evangeline uttered with concern.
“But-”
“No buts. You’ve done so much for the company. There’s nothing wrong with you going home early for once.”
Evangeline started nudging her toward the door. “And while you’re at it, go thank Sinclair for all the gifts he sent us.”
Anathea didn’t say anything. She just glanced at the solid gold floral arrangement still sitting by the entrance with a complicated look in her eyes.
As soon as Anathea stepped out of the building, she saw a silver–black Maybach parked by the curb. The window was down, and Gregory’s handsome face was visible.
Anathea paused for a moment, then walked toward the car.
Dexter opened the door for her. She got in and sat next to Gregory but he didn’t say a word. He didn’t look too great either.
It seemed he was still upset about her kicking him out earlier without any courtesy.

Anathea glanced at the side of his face where he’d taken a punch, noting it was slightly swollen with a scraped mark. It looked pretty bad.
Pressing her lips together, she reached for the first–aid kit in the car and said gently, “Let me treat that.”
Hearing that, Gregory finally looked at her, raising his eyebrows slightly. “Since when did you get this proactive?”
Before, no matter how much he’d taken initiative, she’d remained inmoved. But now, she was offering to treat his injury on her
own.
“You got hurt right in front of me. How could I not treat it?”
Anathea dipped a cotton swab in antiseptic and reached toward him. “Come here.”
Gregory didn’t move. Instead, he stared at her, thrown off by how suddenly she’d changed. It was hard for him to process.
But Anathea didn’t give him time to think as she reached out and grabbed his jaw, pulling him closer.
When the cotton swab touched his face, Gregory sucked in a sharp breath.
“Does it hurt?” Anathea asked, leaning in toward his face and gently blowing right?”
