Scumbags like these thugs didn’t need lectures. Those were just empty words that only emboldened them to keep pushing the limits. What they really needed was a taste of their own medicine.
Unlike Hannah’s satisfaction, Anathea turned to the visibly shaken Hale couple and Chloe hiding in the corner.
She tugged lightly on Gregory’s sleeve. “This approach might not look great.”
“You’re right, Annie.” As Gregory glanced down at her hand on his sleeve, a faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips. “I should use the proper way.”
He raised his hand, signaling the bodyguards to back off from punishing Callan. At the same time, the local police and Sinclair Group’s legal team arrived in record time.
Like a drowning man spotting a lifeline, Callan lit up at the sight of the police officers. He rushed them and complained loudly,” Thank God you’re finally here! These people are out of control!”
He thought they would back him up like they always did. After all, they’d been paying “security fees” for years. Without that confidence, he wouldn’t have dared to act so arrogantly in front of Anathea and the others.
But the moment the officers saw Gregory, their entire demeanor shifted. Their stern expressions melted into respectful ones.

These officers were no fools. On the surface, they helped the neighborhood deal with troublemakers and earned a good reputation. But behind the scenes, they protected those same thugs for profit.
They managed to settle conflicts while ensuring their own profits were maximized. Basically, they were playing both sides.
But they weren’t stupid enough to try those tricks in front of Gregory.
They assured Gregory on the spot that they would handle the matter seriously and provide him with a satisfactory resolution.
And just like that, the officers lifted their hands and slapped a pair of handcuffs on each of the dumbfounded thugs.
Callan and Ezekiel, however, weren’t entirely brainless. They shared a quick glance and stepped forward together, crying foul
like seasoned actors.
“Alright, we caused a scene earlier. If you want to arrest us, go ahead. But we had a reason! The owner of this place is pure evil! There was a huge cockroach in my ravioli! That’s a serious hygiene issue. What if I got sick from eating it? Who’s gonna pay my medical bills then?”
“Bullshit!” Hannah shot back. “When Mr. Hale said he was going to check the surveillance footage, you looked guilty as hell. It’s obvious you planted it yourself. Let’s pull up the footage!”
“Alright, enough,” one of the officers said, raising a hand. “We’re mot here to argue. If there’s surveillance footage, we’ll check it and see what really happened.”
However, after a few minutes of checking the footage, the officer shook his head. “There’s nothing in the system.”
Damien froze. “What?”
Samantha was also in disbelief. “That’s impossible! The cameras were working fine. There’s no way the footage is just gone!”
