“Alright, drive safe,” Anathea said.
“Bye, Thea!” Chloe waved at Anathea.
Anathea’s voice softened immediately. “Bye, Chloe.”

Gregory’s gaze shifted back to Anathea. As he observed lier calm profile and the gentle smile on her face, a smile crept onto his
own.
When Hannah and Chloe finally disappeared from view, Anathea turned to Gregory. She hesitated for a moment. “About that money-”
Gregory cut her off, saying, “It’s late. Let’s go home.”
Anathea swallowed the rest of her words. She nodded and said goodbye to Samantha before getting into the car.
Gregory was just about to follow when Damien came jogging up with a bag in hand.
“Wait, Mr. Sinclair!” He held out the bag. “Thea and Hannah didn’t get a chance to really eat with all that chaos earlier, so I packed up two orders of ravioli for you to take home.”
Gregory paused, eyeing the takeout boxes. “Does she really like this ravioli that much?”
“Oh, definitely. Thea and Hannah used to come in all the time and order two servings each.” Samantha was confident about both her culinary skills and knowing the two ladies‘ preferences.
“You should try it, Mr. Sinclair. It’s really good.”
“I see.” Gregory accepted the bag and got into the car. He turned to suggest Anathea try some while it was still hot, only to find her already fast asleep in the seat.
Pregnant women did get tired more easily.
Instead of waking her, Gregory gently placed the bag aside, then reached over and pulled her into his arms. Satisfied, he ordered Martin to handle the rest.
“Understood,” Martin replied.
The doctor who’d come over stepped forward to treat the minor injuries on Damien and Samantha.
Meanwhile, the lawyers glanced at one another, looking baffled.
They couldn’t believe that Gregory had summoned an elite legal team to draft a basic settlement agreement. That was like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
Before Gregory left, they quickly walked up to the car and bent down to look at Gregory, who was sitting inside with his arm around Anathea.
With a respectful tone, they said, “Mr. Sinclair, about earlier-”
Before they could finish, Gregory’s cold gaze flicked toward them with an unmistakable edge.
The lawyers immediately shut their mouths, unsure what they’d done to offend him.
It wasn’t until Gregory raised his index finger to his lips in a gesture to silence them that they froze in surprise.
So it turned out that they’d disturbed Anathea’s sleep.
The lawyers all felt a twitch at the corners of their mouths but said nothing more. They backed away respectfully.
Gregory turned his attention back to Anathea, rolled up the window, and told Dexter to drive.

Just like that, the silver–black Maybach slid into the night.
The lawyers exchanged another round of baffled looks, still feeling something was off about Gregory’s behavior tonight. They then gathered in front of Martin.
After all, Martin was Gregory’s right–hand man. He was the one who could read Gregory’s thoughts most easily.
“Mr. Chadstone, what’s going on with Mr. Sinclair? That two million dollars was completely unnecessary.”
The others nodded in agreement. They were the best in the field–legal veterans who’d won far tougher cases. They could’ve shut that racket down cleanly and even won damages.
But Gregory had just handed over the money with barely a blink. It felt more like charity than strategy.
What was even stranger was that everyone knew Gregory wasn’t the type to give up a single cent.
They remembered how they’d worked countless overtime hours to uncover their competitor’s flaws and secured 80% of the profit. Yet Gregory had dismissed it with a cold “It’s not enough“.
How could a man who was always focused on maximizing profits be so generous as to give away two million dollars?
It made no sense at all.
