“Anathea didn’t pay much attention at first. There were so many sticky notes in the box. It would be hard to find hers.
Besides, she didn’t think someone like Gregory, who was so indifferent to everything, would be interested in her past teenage thoughts.
Sitting at the vanity, she slowly applied her skincare.
Suddenly, a smooth voice rang behind her.
“Gregory looked so hot playing basketball today. I yelled his name really loudly, and he looked over my way. I wonder if he saw me.”
Anathea froze, then quickly turned around.
Gregory was looking at her with a half–smile, holding a stack of sticky notes in his hand. He’d found the notes she’d written and was reading them out loud seriously.
And there was more than one!
“I secretly wrote a confession on the chocolate I put in Gregory’s drawer. I wonder if he ate it. Hope he didn’t give it to some other girl.”
“Oh my God! I forgot to make the confession anonymous! I wonder if Gregory saw it. But he hasn’t replied to me. Does he hate me? But he didn’t delete my comment. Maybe he likes me a little bit?”
“My 18th birthday wish is to marry Gregory.”
“My 19th birthday wish is the same as before–marry Gregory.”
As Anathea watched him read aloud the contents of each sticky note, her face flushed red.
Even though she didn’t love Gregory anymore, those old feelings from when she was a teenager were filled with nothing but affection for him.
Now, Gregory was reading every word aloud, exposing the secrets she’d once carefully buried. It felt like a torment.
Gregory picked up the last sticky note in his hand. “My 20th birthday wish-”
“Stop it!” Anathea jumped up, rushing to grab the note from his hand.
But Gregory raised his arm, easily avoiding her grab.
Panicking, Anathea used both hands to try to get it back. With one strong push, she ended up knocking him onto the bed.
The soft scent of cedarwood filled her nose, but she couldn’t focus on that. She was too intent on getting the sticky notes back.
She grabbed Gregory’s hand and pried his fingers open, finally getting hold of the notes with the secrets of her past. Just as she was about to stand up, Gregory wrapped his arm around her waist.
His nose brushed against her cheek as he spoke in a low voice, “My 20th birthday wish is still to marry Gregory. But this time, I’m being a little greedy. I want to have cute kids with him. I wonder if he’d prefer a son or a daughter.”
He continued, “You’re not being greedy. I am. I like both sons and daughters.”
Anathea froze. As she looked down, her eyes met his deep, penetrating gaze.
Gregory’s hand, which had been resting on her waist, shifted to her abdomen. His warm palm pressed gently ist it. “I love you. So, whether it’s a son or a daughter, I’ll try to love them just as much.”
As Anathea gazed at him, a complex emotion flickered in her eyes.

He cupped her face with one hand, leaned in, and kissed her lips softly. His warm breath lingered on her face.
Her fingers curled tightly, her throat tensed, and her eyes flickered with shifting emotions.
The world around them was quiet. They could seemingly hear the sound of the evening breeze rustling through the leaves outside the window.
In the end, Anathea closed her eyes. Lowering her head, she kissed the corner of his mouth.
That simple gesture deepened Gregory’s destre. His hand rested gently on her stomach as he asked softly, “Should be around 13 weeks by now, right?”
Anathea paused. She pressed her lips together before nodding and humming in agreement.
Gregory smiled gently at her response, then lifted her and settled her onto his lap.
