Seeing the teasing, curious look on Giselle’s face, Anathea paused for a moment. Her tone sounded a bit off as she replied, “Just
like that.”
“Like what?” Giselle asked with a grin.
Anathea recalled Gregory’s tender expression under the moonlight last night. His voice was deep and affectionate as he whispered to her, “Annie, I just want you to be happy.”
She felt a warmth rising beneath her calm exterior, but she quickly regained her composure and said calmly, “Let’s go. Gregory will get suspicious if we waste too much time.”
Gregory was notoriously strict when it came to Adam’s confinement. He wouldn’t allow Giselle anywhere near him, especially not as a lawyer trying to reopen Adam’s case.
So, taking advantage of the moment last night when Gregory had let his guard down, Anathea had managed to get him to agree to let her visit Adam.
She might have had too much pride to use such tactics in the past, but now, she had no choice.
Warfare strategies followed a specific sequence. But right now, Anathea had no time to deliberate on the best approach. She simply needed to act, no matter what, and choose whatever method worked.
As Giselle studied Anathea’s profile, she pressed her red lips together.
To her, Anathea’s beauty was delicate and graceful. She was soft, gentle, and serene. Yet beneath that calm exterior, when she chose to take risks, she was fierce and unyielding.

Since Anathea had Gregory’s approval, she and Giselle were able to see Adam without any issues.
Compared to Anathea’s last visit, Adam seemed much better. It was clear that Gregory had kept his promise. He’d gotten Adam
the best doctors.
But that didn’t erase the fact that Gregory had once ruthlessly exacted revenge on Adam. And…
“I reviewed the case files and the evidence from back then. Some of it is questionable and definitely not solid enough to justify such a heavy sentence for Mr. Jacobson.” Giselle pulled out her tablet and pointed out the flaws in the records to Anathea.
Anathea’s fingers tightened. So someone had planted false evidence to get Adam convicted. But why target him?
What she couldn’t understand even more was Gregory’s role in all of this.
Had he simply been seeking revenge on Adam for scheming against him in the past? So he used that as a reason to pin the entire Castenea Suburban Bridge incident on Adam?
If that were true…
Anathea subtly clenched her fingers. The thought was almost too much to bear.
“If we can expose these flaws, we might be able to appeal and get Mr. Jacobson’s life sentence changed to house arrest. He could be released to reunite with his family.” Giselle’s voice pulled Anathea back from her thoughts.
“Really?” Anathea’s eyes lit up. Her voice was eager with hope.
Giselle nodded, then added, “But for now, I’ll need your help. You’ll have to keep Gregory distracted. Make sure he doesn’t catch on to what we’re doing too soon.”

“Got it,” Anathea responded firmly. She would do whatever it took to help Adam.
