As Bobby said that, he reached out toward Hannah. His eyes were full of greed. Hannah’s nails dug into her palm.
But before Bobby’s hand could touch her, a large hand clamped down on his.
“Who the hell is this?” Bobby turned, annoyed. The moment he locked eyes with Dominic’s icy glare, every hair on his body stood up. “M–Mr. Lancaster…”
“You’re ugly. Taking pictures with you would be a waste for anyone.” Dominic flung Bobby’s hand away without hesitation.” Scram.”

Before anyone could react, Dominic had already wrapped an arm around Hannah’s shoulder and pulled her close.
Hannah froze. Surprise flickered in her gaze, but then she quickly tried to push him away. “Let go.”
“What now? You’d rather take pictures with that troll than with me?” Dominic’s tone was unreadable, but his gaze locked on Hannah was scrutinizing.
“Yes.” Hannah avoided his gaze and said flatly, “I don’t want to take any pictures with you. Now let go.”
“Oh yeah?” Dominic let out a scoff and pressed his tongue against his molar. “Well, I’m not letting go.”
Hannah’s expression turned complicated.
“Dominic.”
Just then, Shirley’s voice came through.
Hannah turned and saw Shirley’s half–smile. Suddenly, she felt like a mistress caught in front of the real wife. Her childhood insecurity came flooding to the surface.
“You must be Ms. Cole, right? Nice to meet you. I’m Shirley Watson.” Shirley gave Hannah a polite smile, then looked down at Dominic’s hand still clamped around Hannah’s wrist. “What’s going on here?”
Hanna’s breath hitched. Even her urge to struggle vanished. She knew Dominic was getting marri would keep holding her in front of his fiancee.

But before she could insist, Shirley walked up to them with practiced poise. “My apologies, Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair. Dominic had an urgent matter to handle. Would you mind continuing the ribbon cutting ceremony with just the three of us?”
Anathea glanced at Shirley and paused for a moment.
Just then, one of the event hostesses stepped forward, holding a tray with scissors.
Gregory picked two up and handed one to Anathea. He said gently, The blades are sharp. Be careful not to cut yourself.”
Anathea accepted the scissors. Shirley took hers as well.
And in the moment their blades cut through the red ribbon together, Shirley’s voice drifted over softly. “You’re wondering why I let Dominic walk off with another woman right in front of me and even helped cover for them, aren’t you?”
